• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I'm 16. I have a beautiful girlfriend. I also love God, he's the foundation of my life. However, I have partaken in oral sex (both ways) with my girlfriend. Now, she's an atheist, but as it's a highschool relationship, I saw it as only that. However, her sexual values differ from mine, and I know she desires to go all the way. I'm not sure how I will resist this...while I am no longer truly "pure", I want to save myself for marriage....but I don't know how I will resist my hormones, and I'm wondering how God currently looks upon for my sexual activity, and that i'm dating an Atheist. It does worry me. Any advice would be nice..

Well I think you should definitely save yourself for marriage. Dating an atheist is also going to be counter productive to your Christianity.

She isn't athiest, she believes in god but doesn't know which God to believe in. at least it seems that way, She doesn't tell me her beliefs though and I feel she may be pagan or something and hiding it from me v.v

You probably should stop dating her. Your relationship is just setting you up for temptation. Whenever you enter into a relationship without a prospect for marriage all you can do is tear off pieces of your heart in an inevitable breakup. Since your wondering God offers full forgiveness and looks upon you as his child no matter how many times you mess up. So I'd suggest that you stop dating untill you find a girl that you will actually date with the intent of marrying, that way you can save the most of yourself for your future wife.

You are in a complex situation. Considering marriage with an unbeliever is going against God. You will not have the blessing of God in your marriage if you get married to an athiest. The Bible says in 2 Cor 6:14 - "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
Marriage is a decision that will have long lasting effects. Please pray and commit your life to God right away. Matthew 7:14 says "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." I hope you do not make wrong decisions in your life, this could impact your eternal destiny. God has a plan for your life. The greatest thing to accomplish in this world is to fulfill the plan that Father God has for you.
