I create a loaf of raisin bread ex nihilo.

Am I being deceptive? if so, how?

You are being deceptive if you create it today but it looks like this:

So being fresh doesn't count? the fact that it has [instant] dried grapes doesn't constitute deception?

So the world we live in: the new bread is just the old world recycled: the raisins?
The raisins represent anything with age embedded; such as Adam & Eve, a 50-year-old rock, or a 100-million-year old rock.

Raisin aren't grapes with age?
Traditionally, but not necessarily. If I make a carbon copy of a raisin, is it itself a raisin, even though it never grew on the vine? If you piece the object together, molecule by molecule, is it a raisin, or a raisin-facsimile?

Your answers to those questions would tell us more about 'embedded age'. Per my understanding, it's not a case of the mere appearance of age - a mountain poofed into existence complete with stalactites in its caves, has the fake appearance of age but not genuine age. I think.

If you piece together a raisin molecule-by-molecule, as a carbon-copy of another, that's creatio ex materia, not creatio ex nihilo.[/quote]

You never said the bread was fresh. Let me see if I can put it in a way that is easier to understand:

Creating a fresh new raisin bread and telling us you just created it: honesty. (It does not matter if the bread is cooked and the raisins are dried, as long as they look like they were just created).

Creating a bread that looks like it is a week old and telling us you just created it: deception.

I will go back to the car analogy. The age does not matter, what matters is the condition. You tell me you just created ex-nihilo a 1986 BMW. If it looks like this I will give you the benefit of the doubt and perhaps consider that you are being honest:

If it looks like this, I will immediately assume you are deceiving:

Even forgetting all about radio-carbon (or any other) dating method, our planet does not look like it was created 6,000 years ago.

What if you poof it into existence, ex nihilo? If it never grew on the vine, is it still a raisin?
