  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have stuff in my heart, needs saying

But, as I am NOT INTO 'denominational stuff'...
I need to do some further research, before I allow my heart to take the reins

I am a non-denominational Christian _for my abhorrence of 'type-casting'
In my childhood, my experience came first in a Methodist Church
that began to have problems [unknown] and I was moved to an anglican church
The Church of England... where my learning became 'steady'
After perhaps 3-4 years, I was abused by a paedophile
and no longer attended church_
for a lack of faith in a God that could permit such to happen to me
My return to faith, was perhaps even more dramatic as it is unshakeable
There are many paths, headed, in the same direction
with each, believing, that their way, is the only true way
and 'that' is okay with me... truly!!!

I will return to this... just as soon as I have these 'feelings' formulated
and can express them in a structured manner

I don't know about a lot of different denominations either Dave. I find Baptists, Presbyterians, and non-denominations within reformed theology...each church seems to have different ways to organize church structure, leadership patterns, some disagree on infant baptism, but seem to get along anyway...I just don't have the energy to study every different church. I listen to reformed teachers from all 3 of the above mentioned kind of churches. What holds them together is their view of how we are saved initially...does God save us by His grace , regenerating the souls that are dead in trespasses and sins, giving them the faith and will to beleive in His Son...or do unregenerate men generate their own faith to believe and God then responds to save them.

I hold with the first example...God sovereignly saves and chooses His elect...hope I did not screw this up too much. I am no expert on anything, but when I began to understand God's sovereignty in salvation everything fell into place...man just cannot be in the center, or God is not God. (to me).

(((:)))))) I sooo agree with this, but
I also pray believing He uses our prayers as a means to accomplish His will.
Jesus told us to pray at all times and not lose heart (LK 18:1).
I do confess to losing heart at times, when answers seem to be delayed,
then I look around and see He has changed quite a bit
inside my heart for the better...He is amazing!
Hi Angelwind,
If your thread here, referred to what happened in the Prayer-thread here recently,
I'm sorry :( if I made you feel bad. - I have struggled
(over bad-attitudes of some people here), to the point
of going into heart-failure. I know that was really stupid,
to let people destroy me like that. - And yes, JESUS told us
to pray at all times and not lose heart (LK 18:1) Thanks for reminding me.
I need this!
At any rate, you are a good :) person, and obviously
you have many friends here. Keep up the good work!

Hello Angelwind,

You've done nothing wrong at all. The best advice I could give you would be to ignore and forget the original incident.

angel, just a suggestion....One can believe in sovereignty of God in salvation and everything else, but not be a Calvinist. I come to understand that Calvinism means different things to different people, and that is just fine. But Calvinism distorted many-many scriptures, assigned different meanings to various words, and established a doctrine that sounds biblical but if we look closely, it is not. One main thing that is troublesome to me is the particular redemption, in simple language is that Christ died only for the elect. Which means that Christ bled only for a small tiny portion of humanity (narrow door). That is different from Christ of the Bible who died for all! But we are digressing from OP. Sorry!

Hi Angel' Sis'

Yes, it is the 'terms' [tongues] that different people use [?]
~like I am supposed to know them too
that causes me, to have-to 'watch' my P's & Q's and enquire [FIRST!]
as to where, it is, they are at

I have this 'thing' in me, that says
that while God created everything [and, everyone]
His Children have always been 'special' to Him

I have 'faith' that God uses the unsaved/disbelievers to His purpose
to 'create' and 'participate' in His teaching of, His Children
~no-matter, whatever, our circumstances at any-moment...
we remain_
just exactly 'where' He intends us to be [?]
Where then, we are 'shown' [our faith is 'tested']
by what He, wants us to see /learn [to His purpose]

^Therefore, we should not 'quake, in our boots'
when we meet the unknown /the wicked /trials, of all kinds
but rather, engage them peacefully and confidently_
and to do this,
in the knowledge, that if and when He brings us to it
then He WILL surely, also.... see us through it

^Thus, when we hold our gifts ~with open-hands [?]
we can lose nothing IMPORTANT
for the 'things' of the world, have no-meaning, or value, in Heaven

An analogy, for what I am trying to describe, could be:

A biologist attempting to culture good-bugs in a petrie dish
and will harvest, ONLY those He likes /wants /needs

and likewise, I believe that even 'the unsaved' CAN be converted
but that, that soul, must WANT... 'that', to be so, too
~become a turncoat and defect to God's army [?]

Hi Tom

I agree with you on the matter re: 'any wrongdoing'

The lesson was experienced and learning took place [taken onboard]
cannot be ignored
[anymore, than 'a bite from a vicious animal' can be tolerated]

I must be careful here, not to break the forum rules, so, I will say:

It is not an OFFENCE...
to concur with someone-else

As christians, we allow others, to choose 'their way'
even when, their way, is obviously alternate to our's
That, while forgiveness is an unavoidable process, of christian fellowship
What is learned... will be remembered, and awareness will be, 'tuned-up'

I am putting it behind me...
but the Lord did use it to sift me for a few days...

Thank you for your support...

 Angel' Sis'
Everything... 'comes around without-water'
Your 'comfort' will be restored, upon the realisation...
~that, 'nothing is hidden' from His sight
[the sheep, that 'howls like a wolf', is 'no-threat' to the flock]

John 14:27 (NIV)

Have a Wonderful Son-day everyone \o/

your Bro'

Thank you Dave for your thoughtfull reply here and in many places...we have started our day by eating breakfast out...again. My hubby loves to eat his breakfast at a good restaurant...yesterday I made him ham, eggs and pancakes, he is well fed for sure.

I have a great deal of joy in my heart and am trying to decide where to go to church...this is a challenge for me.
