My prayers as a kid

Ive been looking back at alot of the things I used to do as a kid and am realizing that alot of them weren't proper. For example, I used to have a specific prayer I had to pray, and it wouldnt be answered till I prayed it perfectly. That...that doesnt sound like God...at the time I didnt know better but now im like...hm...don't see this in the bible. Anyone want to weigh in?

When ye pray be not as the heathen for they THINK they shall be heard for their many words .
GOD already knows what we have need of even before we ask .
THERE Is no special method on prayer . Hope that helps .
