The Lord is My Pilot

Thank you dear Lord

For making me wait

For always intervening

When I try to mess with fate

You always seem to know what’s best

Even when I don’t

You always look ahead, dear Lord

Even when I won’t

Help me to be patient

Keep me in your care

I’ll put my life in your hands

Cause I know that you’ll be there.

<H1 style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">I’m Lonely, Lord

I’m lonely, Lord

I need some guidance

To get me through the day.

I need you, Lord

When temptation lurks

Along life’s narrow way.

Teach me to be patient, Lord

Help me to be strong

As I travel down Your path of truth

To find where I belong.

I’m lonely, Lord

I need somebody

To walk through life with me

As the stars fade out, I wonder

Is there someone out there for me?

Dear Lord

I feel so out of place

I don’t know what to do

They’re all talking weekends

There seems no place for you.

Where do I fit in Lord?

Within this campus crowd

When they talk of the world

You don’t seem to be allowed.

Watch over me, Lord

Down the path I take

Give me your guidance

In the choices that I make.

Now, the chairs are empty

Silence fills the halls

Lord, where can I find you?

As I look within these walls.

As I close this prayer, Lord

Keep me in your care

Watch, keep and guide me

I know that you’ll be there!

Broken Dreams

I had a treasured childhood toy

That brought me hours of precious joy

Then, one day, when the cold wind blew

My treasured toy broke in two.

Like my treasured childhood toy

My dreams filled my heart with joy

But when they were told they would never come true

Out of my heart, my dreams, they flew.

With my toy and precious dreams

I had a heart that once did sing

But when it found out that it couldn’t have you

My fragile heart broke in two.

I took my broken things to God

And asked Him what he could do

To mend my heart, fix the toy

And make my broken dreams renew.

He said, My child, you should know

Even though it doesn’t seem

When I close a door, I open a window

And let my love’s light beam.

Give them all to me, he said

Broken toys, broken hearts and broken dreams

Trade them in for heavenly joy

Of which this world will never see.

I gave my broken things to God

To trade in for heavenly peace

He gave to me his only Son

Who gave His life to me.

The Awakening

You have finally figured out
What I knew all along

This country must get back to

What we were founded on.

This country was not founded

On prejudice and hate

We must trust the master

It is He who holds our fate.

Everything that happens

In our world today

Has its own purpose

When we do things His way.

As Christians, we have backslid

Into selfishness and greed

Even though the signs were there

His warning we did not heed.

Now that we are grieving

And reflecting on what went wrong

We reach out to our Father

Who was there for us all along!

Heaven’s Gatekeeper

Welcome to Heaven

Won’t you come in;
You have reached
Your journey’s end.

You’ll need no money
Everything’s free;
You’ll spend your days
Walking with me.

I am the greeter
Of the big, pearly gates;
That lead to the kingdom
Where eternity waits.

Over the hilltop
There stands a big mansion
It was all paid for
With the Lamb’s ransom.

He paid for all this
On the cross for your sins;
So, now I, the greeter
Am letting you in.
