Here are some of my Christian poems that i wrote to honor Christ and tell of His love for the people of the world and what he has done in my life.

The Rose and the Lily

On crucifixion day before they nailed him to the cross,
Cruel soldiers of Rome mocked our Lord Jesus Christ
With a robe and crown of thorns.

They did not know it, for it was to their own loss,
Jesus had come to die for us all, the great sacrifice.

While his mother Mary and the women mourns,
He bravely gave up his life for the sake of our souls.

Great drops of blood and sweat fell from our savior’s face,
How much more precious than rubies and diamonds, each blood drop, each tear.

To bring the world redemption from sin and give us saving grace,
The Son of God had to die.

We are human and we are sinful and worldly, but God’s love relieves us of our fear.

We may question the reason why, but in the spring at Easter time when the red rose blooms,

We need no longer fear death and its dooms.
The blood-red rose, with its thorns and beauty,

Reminds us and helps us to see,
The importance of Calvary.

A rose for the crucifixion, a sweet fragrant flower for everyone.

But as all Christians know, our Lord and savior did not remain in the grave.

On that bright Easter morning, Christ rose up from the dead, conquering death and Satan, so that all souls may be saved.

The three Maries wanted to anoint their dear Master’s body with ointments and spices.

They discovered an empty tomb, for the stone had been rolled away.

The hypocrites in the Sanhedrin and religious leaders of the day were left to lie about the miracle and deceive God’s people with cunning devises.

But the disciples knew the truth, and soon so would the entire world, for over his children Jesus’ banner of love and truth had been unfurled.

Pure white lilies grew at the tomb, to honor the Lily of the Valley who is God’s one and only son.

On his banner the lilies grow, to celebrate the glorious victory on Easter Day.

A lily for resurrection, the Son of Man’s work was nearly done. Sweet white lily of Easter, reminds of Christ’s purity and holiness.

As the conqueror of death Jesus had risen again and thrown back the darkness.

The disciples hid in fear, aware of their own sin, fearing torture at the hands of their enemies.

The risen Jesus Christ appeared to them, they thought they saw a ghost, but he showed them he was flesh and blood.

Jesus let his disciples know he had come back. They need no longer fear death and Hades, for he held the keys.
He gave us His holy spirit to guide us and bring us peace, and the power of the Holy Spirit is mightier than fire and flood.

He bid his disciples preach the Gospel from coast to coast. At the last meal, he broke bread with them and they saw the nail scars.
Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, higher than the planets and stars.

The Rose of Sharon, the messiah, had come to Earth and given everything he had since his winter birth, now he would leave us in spring, to return to his heavenly home.

From then on, the followers of Christ bravely carried on the word, whether they faced famine, prison, flogging, burning, crucifixion and death by the sword.

With great faith, love, courage, and conviction they spread the gospel saving men and women from hell, around the world this new faith would roam.

The Easter lily reminded them of that glorious Sunday morning when they discovered the empty tomb.

For Jesus had fulfilled every prophecy, ever since he came from the Virgin’s womb.

Now, in spring, lilies and roses grow, sweet flowers remind us of the life of Jesus, and the life that we know.

In a garden one is closer to God; we can feel Jesus as our shepherd with his guiding rod.

For our Lord Jesus Christ is the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley, the bright and shining Morning Star, trust in Him to take you far.

Roses, so beautiful, the queen of flowers, if marked forever by the flaw of many a sharp thorn, reminder of how even the most perfect of us still sins, for with the sin of Adam and Eve every child is born.

Lilies, blossoming in color and in white, star-shaped and fragrant, remind us we too will rise again, for in the end goodness wins.

Each spring before summer the rose and the lily rise from the mud, starting with a little seed and a little green bud.

The seeds of faith grow in our hearts if they are nurtured cared for and protected from Satan’s evil hateful darts.

May the seeds of faith grow in you my friend, may your garden always grow.

Sweet fair rose and lily, bless all other flowers and everything in nature that is good and beautiful that I know.

These fair flowers comfort humanity, in for in every plight there is hope in heaven above.

Roses and lilies, may they forever bloom, the flowers of love.
