Anyway. Very kind tribute to your pastor Rocky. If I recall you have mentioned him before. The best ones keep on teaching even after they are gone.It is important, that if someone claims sanctification, that you have the ability to peer within the heart and find good things. My old pastor was a good example of sanctification....
1. Very disciplined guy - Up at 6AM every morning
2. Rejoiced in what he called being a Pentecostal Holiness country preacher
3. Revivals - At least one every two months - All with unique and good evangelists
4. Would let the Holy Spirit have his way in service
5. Take time to pray for the sick at church and in the hospitals. Carried a bottle of anointing oil with him
6. Was a friendly guy and would come visit you
7. Loved God and very Christlike.
8. A great, loving, and supportive family man as well
9. No allegations against the guy the 30 years he was with us
Our church board thought replacing him would be easy. They have been through many pastors since and the church has done poorly.
Thanks. It has been a long time since I have been to quality Christian conference. In such environment one can leave with the clean feeling of sanctification.Anyway. If people haven’t become more self-consumed and self-praising having time to find all the complimentary scriptures and tell everyone else that describes them. Frankly I was shocked to read a man boldly claimed that he is just like Jeremiah, called from conception and then without batting an eye told of how he physically hurt his sister as a child. I imagine that it is easy to take a humble, no drama servant for granted. The board probably assumed that their own leadership was more significant than it really was. But rather than looking to their faults, blame the new guys.Why would anyone think that? That's quite insulting
to the person you admire.

Good comment / post.I imagine that it is easy to take a humble, no drama servant for granted. The board probably assumed that their own leadership was more significant than it really was. But rather than looking to their faults, blame the new guys.
Also, they probably tried to replace the pastor who was strong where they thought the old pastor was weak. So the likely got new pastors who didn't have the strengths that made the old Pastor successful.
Finally, the new pastor may have been unable to humble himself before the board/congregation, as well as the old pastor did.

But he was only doing his job.The man had a wife and three kids, whom he put through college and they all turned out well. I don't think he could have done that for free, and, remembering ...

It is easy to pay tithes to a church where there is a feeling the pastor is doing his job and is committed in doing what he does for the good of the church.But he was only doing his job.
