• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello Everyone.

I want to tell you the story of my parents. They are both passed away now(! today happens to be my dad's birthday... I had forgotten...).

My mother died in '92 of lung cancer (smoking) which then spread to the brain and my father died in '03 of a massive heart attack (smoking again...)

January 8 would have been their anniversary...:sigh: .

Now when I was first saved I brought them to my church and they went forward at the altar call and event got baptised. The thing is that their behaviour NEVER changed. The just kept on swearing and lying and fighting with each other and being mean to people.

I often wonder...where are they now???

This really bugs me and I was wondering if someone could shed some light on the subject for me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Hon,

I'm sorry about your parents.

Try to leave this with God.

Many come to Christ, and their behavior stays the same, because they haven't been convicted about it, but it doesn't mean they aren't saved.

Trust God with them. Only He knows the heart.

God bless you,

Tapero

I am so sorry for your loss:hug:
I wondered the same thing about my brother after his wife threw him an athiestic funeral, but only God knows. Thinking of the best of times is what I focus on and leave the rest at Jesus' feet.
If you ever need to talk, please feel free to pm me anytime.
Our prayers are with you!:groupray:
God bless,
Alana

Jesus said, He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
If they believed in Him, you can rest assured they are with Him.
There are many professing Christians who don't walk above reproach.
I am glad you are resting in the grace of God. I know you would have liked to see some outward changes in their behavior. But God looks on the heart. So, He knows and He will give you peace.
Hugs to you!!!

My brother accepted the Lord in high school, and was baptized. He attended church for a while in high school, but didn't for the rest of his short life. He still drank, and gambled, and all that, but when he died, we had a Christian funeral, with the testimony that he had accepted the Lord preached. The pastor even said that because of his faith in the Lord, he was in heaven.

God's Word assures us that if we accept the Lord, we are going to spend eternity with Him. Trust Him for your parents.

I accepted the Lord in high school, but suffered from a lot of issues that only recently began to heal. I was an awful person till only a few years ago. I was a Christian and I went to church, but I was still carnal in many ways.
