  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Let's say Noah would have built two arks -- both exactly the same; then mustered all the world's top scientists and told them to point to the ark that he should use when it starts to rain, and they could have the other, if they wanted it.

(Let's factor the animals out of this challenge.)

In your opinion, would Noah have died in the Flood?

Okay, assuming Noah was saved due to faith - and by depending on the scientists, not the LORD, he wasn't proving his faith to god but to his fellow men, I would assume he would not have survived, no.

The premise for survival was faith (I might be mistaken on that one, don't know the story very well).

What's the point of this challenge, though?

One of these times, I am going to satisfactorily answer one of these challenges. My lofty ambition in life is to win the "I Correctly Answered One of AV's Challenge Threads Award."

I will wear it proudly, you guys.

No, Noah would not have died in the flood. He had God's protection. God wanted Noah, his family, and the protected animals to live.

The fate other the other arc's inhabitants would be an unknown. If it was God's will, they would have lived or died.

In my opinion, they all would've died.

Noah was under God's protection. God closed the door for him.
All others would perish, likely from an open door problem.

If god made him and all the animals survive... why would they even need a boat at all?
Couldn't this god just have made everyone else disappear in the blink of an eye?

Why insist on a story which obviously couldn't happen (as there are no sediments, no genetic bottlenecks etc) i wonder...

I mean, if god is allowed to engage in magic (errr.... "miracles"... sorry), then what's the point of going through all this nonsense?

Why not just scream from the skies "that's it all you evil primates, I'm gonna kill all of you and only let Noah and his buddies survive, so there!" after which he would snap his fingers and BOOM! everyone except Noah and his buddies are gone.

At least in such a scenario, we wouldn't be required to believe things for which there not only is no evidence... but in fact things that are demonstrably false.
