  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I recently visited my sister's family, and was shocked to discover what has become of my neice!! She has started weating all black (including these monstorously huge boots she recieved from a "friend"), listening to music that certainly does not glorify Him and being disrespectful to her parents. She also claims that we have taught her wrong and that she is now an atheist/Satanist.

I don't know what she thinks she is doing- her family have raised her in the name of God and she should not have ended up like this. We cannot get her to talk to the pastor and she refuses to do any of the work that is set for her, instead asking if she can be transferred to a public school.

Please pray for my sister and her family during this tough time :prayer:

I will be praying also. :)

It's sooo important that her parents try to keep the communication open between them. They need to make sure they do it in a loving way instead of turning her off.
Even if she's not willing to get counseling, they should go so they can learn how to better deal with it.
There's teens here at CF that say, they're christian gothics. There's even websites for christian goths, you might check out to get some info to help.
I think there's a lot deeper problems that they don't share going on in their lives either against God or people in their lives.
I struggle understanding how some can say how they are christian +goth. Most people associate black/drab dress & attitudes with evil when God is light and hope. We are suppose to be little christians who are examples for others to see.

Do you have a good open relationship with her to talk with her or maybe another family member? It's important to not criticize her but give her loads of love. :)
I hope everything works out soon. :)

Hmm...do you think there's something that's leading her to this lifestyle? Some deeper issues that she's struggling with? Sometimes it's hard for people to keep the faith, especially someone as young and impressionable as a teenager. Be a friend during times like these, show her that Christians are accepting and gracious people. But please please do not shun her, this will only turn her off further. I have a 'friend' who is going through something like this too and she's being hard headed as well, but you just have to keep faith that God will shine his light.

Tough situation though. I'm praying for her and your family.
