Gen 1:1,2 - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and desolate, and there was darkness upon the surface of the watery deep, and Gods active force was moving about over the surface of the waters.
If every thing is built-up of atoms did God start by first creating them (Colossians 1:16)? By throwing a cocktail of protons and neutrons on the table so to speak. If it was created in such a way, and electrons are what makes atoms react with each other to create something new (such as an element) did he hold these back for when he wanted to build the foundations of his other creations, such as the plants, animals and fruits according to their kinds? (Psalm 102;25 ~ Long ago you laid the foundations of the earth, And the heavens are the works of your hands. Hebrews 1:10) This is also where I believe God has allowed for evolution. By building the foundations of life according to their kinds, he allowed them room to grow and change.
So the earth has now been created, but the scripture says 'the earth was formless and desolate and there was darkness upon the surface of the watery deep' we know that as of yet, these atoms haven't been contained or moulded into Gods desired shape (in this case a sphere). We also know its desolate, uninhabited. Everything that makes up the earth is now 'on the table' so to speak. But at this moment in time it has no form and cannot sustain life. If we were to look upon it, we would see a nothingness. If we were to magnify the area we would see chaos. Atoms running in all different directions, bumping and bouncing off of each other but never sticking, just like surging waters. So does this mean the make-up of the was present but not the earth itself? (Psalm 104:5,6 ~ He has established the earth on its foundations; It will not be moved from its place forever and ever. You covered it with deep waters as with a garment. The waters stood above the mountains.)
Looking at Gods active force, lets just imagine a dove flying over an ocean. Just like this dove, God is above these atoms, looking downwards. As the air moves to allow way for the doves wings, these atoms move to allow God's will. Is Gods active force the action that creates or carries out his will rather than being an individual being?
Genesis 1:3-5 ~ And God said "let there be light." Then there was light. After that God saw that the light was good, and he began to divide the light from the darkness. God called the light Day but the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, a first day.
I find it extremely interesting that God made the light after he made the earth, or the foundations of the earth. Obviously with this being the work of God there was no mistake that it happened in this order. So why this particular order? Did the foundations of earth make it easier to separate the light from the darkness, as there was now something for light to illuminate? I also find it interesting that there was no sun before there was light. To me its as if God wanted to play a game (with his already present child Proverbs 8:30) of catch the light whilst he was building the earth before pushing it into a tight space which we call the sun.
