So..... Anyone mention that the singularity that exploded and spread the matter of the universe all around was made of a bunch of matter/energy/stuff?

How it formed and where it came from is a really good and really tough quesiton. But the catchphrase "...And then nothing exploded and formed the universe" is a simple strawman.

Best of luck AV, you'll get us someday.

Shifting the burden of proof, nice move.

do you even know who has burden of proof or what it is and why?

the burden of proof rests on a positive claim. So far there have been none.

Also, the burden of proof is like that so people can make crazy claims and get away with it. That's why creationists never make positive claims that require burden of proof, they simply attack what they perceive as a opponent but never directly address their own claims, because they cant.

Can’t we just answer his question? He’s not asking whether there’s any evidence against it having been created ex nihilo, he’s asking whether there’s any evidence that it was.

The answer is that there isn’t any evidence of ex nihilo creation. Why can’t we just tell him that?

Well, latetly I looked into the nightsky, and behold! there was no moon. Then I turned around and looked into the opposite direction... and there was a moon!

Obviously, I have created the moon ex-nihilo by turning around.

Don't quote me on this because I don't make a hobby of lunar study.
But I think the earth was a lot smaller to begin with, but then something even smaller, although still big enough to be a planet, collided into the earth and merged with it while simultaneously breaking off a bigger chunk, which was then thrown into orbit around the earth, and eventually rounded off its edges (because of gravity)
This is also why the earth's axis is on an angle, cause it got knocked upside the head as a baby, an unfortunate event that is apparently not just limited to planets...
That's the running idea right now. I found this pretty unbiased article about it, it really takes both sides of the issue, but with the use of computer models and available evidence, we're slowly closing in on the most probable cause of the moon.

Seriously though, this was the first listing on a Google search, you could try and do your own research instead of just bothering everyone in the physical sciences section to do it for you.

there is an assumption in the op that creation is true. When someone says there is no evidence he will simply say that gives him reason not to present any in order to make his opinion valid.

Why does that matter? You don’t avoid telling someone the truth just because it’s going to strengthen their argument. Besides, what he believes is probably going to stay they same regardless of what we tell him about this.

You broke artilce 4, subsection 2 of the Atheist Union Bylaws. You are hereby kicked out of the United Atheist Alliance.

Considering you’ve only been registered here for around 1/700th as long as I have, I’m not too worried about the consequences of breaking your rules.

to say that since no evidence exists for given position strengthens an argument is crazy talk.

Show me evidence that the moon was created ex nihilo.

I will take your word on it if you say that none exists.

None exists. But there is ample evidence that the moon was "created" ex materia when an object struck Earth and sent debris into space, which eventually became the moon.

So no evidence for X, but plenty of evidence for Y would bring a reasonable person to accept Y over X.

The Bible says otherwise:
Genesis 1:16 said:
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
If an object struck the earth and sent debris out into space, I would surmise three things:

  1. The amount of debris that got ejected was much less.
  2. The moon captured the debris, and the debris is now part of its surface.
  3. The debris left our orbit and scattered into the cosmos.
