• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I will keep you in my prayers. Everyone goes through rough patches in their life. This too shall pass. One day you will look back and see how much life can change in a minute or a day or a month or a year. Just keep believing and praying no matter what.

Hi Denmark. I'm sorry to hear about the way that people have been treating you. There's something about the psyche of some teenagers which makes them have to tear down everyone who isn't like themselves. In situations like that, it's best to remember that people like this do not seriously dislike you or hate you. They are only reacting to peer pressure, which unfortunately often leads to insults and making fun of people. Learn to not take such things seriously and instead just brush it aside. I know that this can be a very difficult thing to do, but many people have learned to do it.

I also know that depression often causes people to have a very strong feeling of permanence, that is to say a feeling that things will never get better. But I can testify from my personal experience that things will get better. Many people have felt the way that you feel at your age, but it does pass.

Hi Denmark, welcome to CF and to the recovery forums.
I'm sorry things are tough at the moment - it's a difficult age to be even without depression and OCD to deal with. Do you have anyone you can talk to about how you feel - a councilor or pastor perhaps?
I know it doesn't feel like it at the moment, but it really will get better

Praying for you, brother - you will find plenty of support and understanding here

Dear Denmark,

Yes Jesus knows what depression is, what is more He overcame depression and still today celebrates His Victory.

You are also invited to overcome depression.

No it is not easy to be depressed, I know all about that having a depressive illness myself - I'm schizo - affective and have struggled with depression for many years.

To beat depression is to keep adding positives into your life. Now your are depressed because of the many negatives in your life, you are kind of run over with your own negative thinking, (check how much of it is by speculation in your negative moods,) so adding positives counter balances the negatives in your life.

The good life of Jesus offers the best hope that is available against bad life.
Medications are fine, they can help a lot, though at times the search is on for a balanced solution. If they don't help try something else or the same drug but in a different combination, like I said they can help a lot.
:amen:
Faith in His love brings alive hope for the future. Faith in His love brings thankfulness alive which in turn brings joy and zest for living.

He is your life - the truth of your being - who you really are, He raises alive those things which in you have died, (always saving the good for life,) saving the Chosen, God Himself crowns them kings, and so together with Christ Good Life can begin to rule over life, which incidentally may still be hard going, but good life is victorious, the good overcomes the bad by accepting reality and learning peace from it, in the truth of His love we are always safe and so very precious! (He offers Rest!)

Incredible comfort lays on offer if we believe in the power of God's love and let God's love transform and heal our hearts and minds.:hug::hug:

Do try the way of love, He Himself shall teach you, the lie(s) will get found out, and the truth will be established! Your truth will then be victorious over death in your life, and you shall begin to overflow with thankful joy!:clap::clap:

It is great to have Jesus and our Heavenly Father as our God and Saviour, especially as someone who still often has to battle depression because of an illness. To be deepest depressed but finding Him there and seeing His ability to hold on and suffer, to be able to talk and receive comfort and encouragement from Him. Down in the deepest pit Jesus is well worth the effort of learning to have faith in Him! He is Greatest!

Finding your life partner with Him, for example; God may well have prepared you a life partner for life. But you are still going through the preparation stage! Hand this part of your life over to Him.

Seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened unto you. Await His Call in your darkest hours, when you see the truth then you will be liberated.:clap::clap:

Have faith in God's love and learn how to overcome your depression.

Peace.

This emotional “baggage” can be a real curse. We can often let it hang around in our mind creating further negativity. We know that negative thoughts attract negative thoughts … and this can lead to fear and anxiety, lack of self confidence and self esteem, depression, illness, disease, and more.

Look at the consequences of internalising or pushing down negative feelings. Become aware of your own self talk and when it’s negative, change it.

Regards,
