Hi All,

I grew up in a Christian family, accepted God into my life at the age of 13. I lived a VERY sheltered and naive life, however University changed that. The first year of uni was wild. I didn’t drink, didn’t go clubbing, and had never lived with other people who were mad about sex until going to uni. The first year I got drunk alot, when out clubbing every day, even pulled a few girls, I can honestly say that in the first year of Uni I did NOT live a Christian lifestyle. It was at the end of the first year that things changed.

I met and befriended people who had been rapped, who had had abortions. I witnessed close friends go mad (insane) and people who cut themselves; I made friends with homosexuals, of which I had never met any before going to uni. This was an eye opener to what the world is really like.

I then found myself looking at my life, and how my Christian upbringing had protected me of all these things. After going back to church with my family in the summer, I felt Gods word being spoken to me through the pastors of the church, their words seemed to reflect the things I had witnessed, and how God had protected me in situations that could have turned nasty.

I then got into web building, this started completely at random, I had no idea what made me do it (I do now- God, but at the time I didn’t) but I wanted to create a forum/message board, and the theme was Christianity. After only a few weeks of it being open we had about 30 members, staff and graphic designers. This message board started something amazing in my life. People from all around the world came to the site, people from places where Christianity is illegal, and how they risked life just posting on the site. I grew more as a Christian from listening to others struggles and how they got around them and over the last year and a half the site has grown to over 530, with staff members in about 10 different countries from around the world. Over the last year the website has came under attack from many, Satanists, people of other faiths, and even brothers and sisters in Christ. I have received hate mail emails from pastors in the US, who were so deep into worrying about what Satan is doing, they were loosing grip of their own faith, and their congregation.

The Ministry has developed into an online Christian fellowship where Christians can develop their journey with Christ further. We have launched an online Christian radio show, of which Kingsway have been sending me music to broadcast, a non Christian information point, discussions, studies and prayer.

Over the year God has placed a few things on my heart. A project that we have been trying to launch is a Christian worship festival in the UK called Christfest. A weekend of worship and bible study. We came very close to launching this in the US last summer and then tried again for this summer. I estimate the event was going to cost £50,000, and have contacted many places for funding, unsuccessfully. However in the last couple of months I've received emails from several UK Christian worship bands who have asked to play at the event. I think its great How God has planned the worship bands, before the event itself.

Currently we are raising funds to be promoted at the Keswick convention, where approx 10,000 Christians from Europe come for up to 3 weeks of Study. So far we have raised about 70% of what we need towards this.

I have never posted this in on a site with as many Christians before, esp the bit about the first year at uni, as im not pleased with that. Hope it makes some sort of sense, im dyslexic, so trying my best.

God Bless

Blakey, in my experience, hearing about the trials of inidividuals who are worshipping God at risk to their own safety is extremely faith-building. In my own life, I have taken this for granted many times. Thanks for reminding us, and God bless you with your endeavors for Him.
