I really think that my church is on the brink of a great program. We are going to have community(for the church body) groups, impact groups(for special needs), a big event every year for the purpose of showing we care, and also individual acts of service where God leads us.
I am really excited about it, except the devil MAY be attacking me right now. I get so uplifted by our pastor's plans for the church that he tells us on Sunday, and then during the week I get depressed over the fact I don't have any friends. Do you ever get fired up about something at church and your excitement dies down during the week? I want to be able to serve God, I mean I feel my life could turn around and really serve him. It's just in these summer months, I don't seem to meet with any friends from college. I really need some good Christian friends, I could use some prayer. I just would really like to see God help me in my personal life, so I can be a better Christian. I believe God could do it. Does this ever happen to you? I would appreciate any comments or suggestions of encouragement or anything else. Thanks. I also would appreciate any PM's or other advice.

um... getting fired up then losing it? i think so, though it hasn't happened for a while... can't think up an example.

you're in my prayers. Have no worries, God will provide. ;)

May that fire keep burning in you! pray and read the bible more, i find that really helpful in regards to keeping God in sight.

We have three things to overcome: The world, The Flesh & The Devil. When we get the victory in our life, then we need to help others to get the victory in their life. We are more than overcomers with God's Help.

Jesus never failed, and when He does a work in our life, He does not fail to accomplish His purpose. As long as we yield to the Holy Spirit.

I'd like to thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I was really happy about my pastor's message today. He talked about getting through life's struggles. He thanked the Lord for his faithfulness. My pastor could see God's hand in his life, and God brought him through the many struggles he endured. Now, I am reassured God has a plan for me. I knew it before, but it is helpful to hear a practical example. I would appreciate your continued prayers that God would strengthen my walk by bringing some encouraging people my way. That way I'd be able to grow in Him and be happier too.

dont doubt your love for the lord, just becuase it seems to go away sometimes.
the more you walk with the lord you will understand that you have to renew your spirit daily and walk in the spirit of your passion for God will not stay, and its not your fault, but there things at work in this world that can actually remove a love for God and passion for his work from you.
when you are walking in his presence, like at church, your passion is high and so is your conviction.
but if you go into the week and dont pray and meditate on the word and keep close communion with him, your passion and conviction will fade, and it doesnt mean you dont really mean it or dont really love God or your not really commited, it means your trying to do this in a way you werent meant to and your being overcome by the devil.

peter said the the end of all things is at hand, so be sober and watch unto prayer.

sometimes the thing you need to watch out for, isnt making sure you still love God and beating yourself cus you dont feel it.

its making sure your praying and spending enough time alone with God, becuase if you dont, you cant possibly keep the love and conviction you need to have, it will fade and you just cant help it.

make sure your spending enough time alone with God man, it all comes from that, not just really being commited or really loving God.
there is no commitment or Godly love that you can have that will change you forever if you dont spend enough time alone with him.

the bible says you need to be filled with the might of the spirit in your inner man, its not your strength or commitment or love for God, its his stuff, inside of you! and you have to keep it.
the bible says you have to guard your heart, so dont blame your heart if it turns away, you have to keep it safe, becuase their are things in this world that can change it.

That's part of life not only for the Christian, but for all human beings, and especially for North Americans, because we have so much trouble patiently waiting for good things to happen.

So relax, it's normal and not a satanic attack at all. Start to help work toward those good goals and your loneliness will take care of itself.

I go through that sometimes, too.
Have you ever read, 'He Chose the Nails' by Max Lucado? I have yet to finish it, but the book seems to motivate me for some reason.

What active role do you take to make other friends outside your peer group?

I'll pray for you.
