That trying to understand the geological history of the Earth through myths and fables instead of what we can plainly see through observation and understanding of the processes involved is not conducive to a proper understanding of reality.
You do agree that subsequent layers were created over time via earthquakes, erosion, wind, volcanic activity, floods, mudflow, ect.?
Not exactly.
Earthquakes, erosion, wind, volcanic activity, floods, mudflows, and the like just move the earth around.
That's all it does.
If you take a deck of cards and shuffle them, you have them in a different order, but you haven't added a single card to them by shuffling them.
I do not believe your god exists and that things written about it creating anything in your holy book are myths and fables.
Av, you've done something amazing: you've created a good analogy as to why those things can't be used to explain the geological layers.
You don't get it, do you?
There is no such thing as geological layers.
I even put "ONE LAYER" in all capitals in my OP.
And I called that layer what God calls it: "Earth."
All these other layers I mentioned: Hadean, Archean, Proterozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic, are nothing more than add-ons.
Made up and drawn on paper.
And that is only your claim and nothing else.
We all have claims, don't we?
Indeed. But when you post on here, all you do is claim, claim, claim, claim, claim, claim and claim.
If science isn't involved -- that is, if it was done by a miracle or set of miracles -- what do you want besides a claim?
Hmm... I'm not understanding. I easily assume that you believe there are observable layers. By what process do you believe created the layers? Not exactly.

He doesn't.
You're right.
I'm just answering his question as he wrote it.
Ok. Well then... as you observe the fresh canyon created by Mt. St. Helen's, why don't you find an equal mix of all elements from top to bottom?Earthquakes, erosion, wind, volcanic activity, floods, mudflows, and the like.
And again, be careful of that word "layers," or it will confuse you.
Academia has the earth -- from its surface to its core -- divided up into "layers".
Whereas I contend there is only one layer.
We might. Want to schedule a visit next summer to check it out ?Ok. Well then... as you observe the fresh canyon created by Mt. St. Helen's, why don't you find an equal mix of all elements from top to bottom?
Then you don't *really* "believe in science", because the science of the age of the Earth is incredibly solid. An age that also matches with the age of the Sun and the age of the asteroids. (not to mention the age of the Universe)I do believe in science....just not in science's interpretation of the age of the earth.

Your continued insistence on opposing deep time to support your personal interpretation of the Bible at the expense of all evidence in God's creation is an astounding tale.
