I made this at cheezburger and sent it to my sister and parents (we all REALLY love LOLcats in my family...) Kind of a memorial:

Oh no hon  I am sooo sooo sooo sorry to hear about this. Despite what some people thing, losing a pet is VERY hard.

Let me know if/when you need cheering up. I have enough LOLCat pics to keep you laughing for days.

I'm sooo sorry to hear this!
I remember when our kitty died and I stayed up the entire night crying... My lifemate and I got some pics developed which had some pics of him in it and we ended up crying all over again.

I think its worse when the pet is a kitty... because kitties really are the best and the cutest.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm sorry for your loss. The thing about animals is that while a lot of the time it's obvious they're sick, sometimes it's just not and it comes on so fast that the animal barely has time to do anything but go down, and there's no time at all to take them to the vet. I thought I was going to lose mine about this time last year (Thank God for emergency vets!) You gave her a wonderful long life and I'm sure she was a very happy kitty right up until the end.

Have you collected all her things and put them up somewhere? That's what I intend to do with my kitty when he goes. I think I might get a little plaque or something and mount his collar, one of his favorite toys, and maybe a pawprint made in plaster or something. Some might think it's silly, but my cat is such an awesome cat that he /deserves/ a memorial and I think putting it together will be a good way to keep myself occupied after his death so I don't just sit around and mope (which I'm prone do doing). It's just a suggestion, and it may help you cope with the grief.

I always think that cats go to a place where they are cared for by loving cat fanciers, and where there are endless fields, lots of cosy homes with little hiding places, and scratching posts and strings and ribbons and feathers on sticks hanging everywhere. And cheeseburgers!

Same with dogs, actually, except with more holes in the ground from hiding shoes, bones, and of course, socks.

(That's where the socks go. Dogs "borrow" them. Even if you don't have a dog. Your missing socks were stolen by a dog)
