  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So, I'm sure we've all had that moment when, although we may love our spouse dearly, we learn something about them that makes us realize for the first time..."my goodness, I'm married to a weirdo". ;)You know, when you finally learn those things that you can only learn through living with someone.

Just for fun, share the first time you had this realization.

When my husband explained he washed his socks seperate from his underwear, his underwear seperate from his pants & shirts, and his work clothes seperated from everything else, I realized I was married to a weirdo.

This also makes me wonder...when did my husband first realize what a weirdo I am???

Oh I knew my husband was a weirdo before I married him. I'm more of a weirdo, so it doesn't bother me. My husband knew this, as well, but not HOW weird I am. I think he may have figured it out one night when I was joking about how to scare the neighbors into moving away so we wouldn't have to hear their 6 dogs barking all night anymore. My hypothetical solutions were... well, a little out there.

LOVE IT!!!!

My husband has MANY weirdo traits..

One of the weirdest though is he tells me "bye Im leaving be back later"(to go to work) and then he will (for example) go out the front door(his car is in the garage in the BACK) and walk back in the front door and he has retrieved the mail and sit down and start reading the mail.

LO and BEHOLD ..my son the 21 year old..???He is doing that now but WORSE..He says "bye Im going to work" I say "bye sweetie"..and he walks out the front door(where his car is)..

I count down(Im not kidding ya'l)..5 ..4 ...3...2 ...1 DING dong!!! Oh your back already I say..and he says ..I forgot to shave...LOL!!!

It DRIVES me NUTS...When they say "bye be back later " and I say "whatever"..

It WEIRD!!!

We married on the grounds we were weird, but she likes food out of the can, cold sometimes... yup, that did it for me.

Your wife is a dog? :D (Key, Hubby and I have a Pit Bull, too.)

I fell in love with Hubby when he'd figured out how weird I was... and said he loved me anyway. I pray every day that I can love him that unconditionally, too.

Oh my gosh I thought I was a cat!

Plus I didnt think I was "weird" either..I eat food out of the "can" but its not "cold" its "room temp"..Like Chunky soup and ravioli..etc..

We've been together for so long, I can't remember the first time I discovered his wierdness. We often say to the other (either of us speaking first):

"You're strange."
"Oh, you're just discovering this?" :D

One of my favorite strange things he does is something he is doing now. He is currently in the hospital: his throat swelled up and it turned out that he had a number of abscessed teeth. He had emergency surgery Tuesday night and is going back in tomorrow. He can't talk due to the tubes in his mouth, but yesterday he communicated using pad and pencil, and today he used his laptop, typing what he wants to say. That's not the wierd part. The wierd part is, in spite of the pain and discomfort, and the inconvenience of typing or writing instead of speaking (he isn't half the typist I am), he will type out little jokes and puns as is his usual in conversation. For instance, yesterday he wished for "pizza-flavored IV". The REALLY strange part is, he's usually a very serious person!

I was at the dentist yesterday and was listening to my husband's ipod touch. i was trying to communicate with her to tell her something important but she couldn't understand me, so i typed my message in a note thing on the itouch. she laughed at me. :p
