You're looking at it the wrong way.

David being delivered from a lion, would be the equivalent of a Maasai youngster being delivered from a charging rhinoceros by grabbing its horn.

I agree with him that the KJV is the best translation. Even Pentecostals can be KJV ONLY. I like the NKJV because it flows a bit better but retains the integrity and the poetry of the KJV. The others are more Bible commentaries and more of a paraphrase then a interpretation.

First of all, there's no way to be sure that David would know. Or are you suggesting that a person is fully aware of the cause of everything that happens to them?

Were the prohphets of Baal all lions? That would be a win for him, though I'm not sure if it would beat Hercules killing an armored lion by strangling it with his bare hands

But unless the prophets were lions, they don't count towards your lion delivery metric.
