Dear friends,

I am planing to create a video game. It should be interesting as well as usefull. Kind of serious game.

It is a 3d game, which will train you (or your children) fast typing on pc.
The primer goal is not to teach, but to have fun exercising, what you already can.

Environment
doors_03.png basement_01.png

Some characters:

The gameplay is allmost done. The main character tries to escape from the high security building, but there are a lot of locked doors. Fortunately there is the player's character, who is able to hijack the codes using a super computer inside the building - the player needs to match the letter on the screen, the hacked code on super computer finds the needed security codes to unlock the doors...

So the whole game is
Move from door to door & copy the displayed text?

There are also open hatches on the `second floor` - if you doesn't match the letter to close them, you fall down to the 'first floor' and need to make that part of way again. This creates quite peace of adrenalin in your veins if you need to match the letter... yes simple, but effective... Think on a racing game.

Not quite copy - the displayed letter needs to be matched. One door - one letter. The speed can get pretty high. Every closed door - means less score. But it's not only about scoring. I plan to make gards to 'hunt' the main character, when a wrong letter was pressed, so it becomes more thrilling.

I like to consider the displayed letter as a kind of hashcode key, which has to be encrypted...

To make the game more diversified I plan to make every level different. Different location, different assets, different goal. Every level the player finds out something new and wants to know, how it all ends (like in a book).

If you have suggestions how to make it more interesting, more thrilling, more exciting, please let me know!!! not just saying so, I mean it!

PS: I also consider to make between the levels a kind of quest with communication, asking, finding solutions etc... but this needs a lot of time or money or both...

Still feel the game type doesn't fit the game style you're using but the animations look .. OK
Few things.
1) The SPINNING at the next level, if you're going to go through all the work of animating the player, you should have him turn properly vs just spinning. (recapture / reanimate a person turning around)
2) When he drops, the animation needs reworking as it's just a walking character falling right now, no landing or anything.

Hi pgp_protector!

Thank you so much for your reply - it is so important to know what people think! :):):)
I fully agree with you about 1 and 2. I will change it probably when I change the character (planned for this week). so you comment was just in time

What would you suggest about the style? Do you think changing the post processing would be enough, or do you mean something different? Thank you in advance!

I can see this being helpful for kids to practice, I would be interested in how you are going to increase the difficulty.

Hi Navary!!! Thank you for your reply!

1. The player starts with the keys (D,F,J,K). Every new level will add two more keys.

2. Also within the layer the speed of character increases continuosly (from walking slowly to running fast). The speed increases up to maximal possible value. This maximal speed can be selected before playing in the game menu (easy / medium / difficult).

I hope I could answer your question. Please don't hesitate to ask further questions. In fact, discussing about the game motivates me a lot and 'makes me making right decisions'.
