My Fortress

This is my plea Lord, my earnest cry
Satan has got me he wants me to die
i'm weighed down by it and I'm stuck in bed
Entangled with anxiety, depression and dread

But I remember and sometimes I hear
Your wonderful promises inside my ear
I am your child and I am your girl
You have the power to change my world

This is the enemy then all around me
But you can destroy him and make him flee
I need your help , God, I'm weak and not strong
All these emotions I'm not sure how long
I will fight them and stand on my feet
But I know you'll come and you'll rescue me

Is this your plan Lord, is there purpose in this?
It seems so sensless, such a great mess
I am just human, I can't stand the pain
Why won't you heal me with your loving hand?

This is my plea Lord my honest cry
I know without you I'll surely die
Guide me and lead me,
Lord, help me to say
You are my fortress and I'm safe today.
