Can we please show more respect for the name of God and for the Bible?

I am saying that some "Christians" do not even capitalize the Name of God. This is wrong, for we should capitalize AT LEAST the first letter.

It seems sort of annoying at first, however it is a sign of respect to God and to His Word.

EDIT: All caps are annoying so maybe they would not be good.

Thanks Susan for making this point. Though I do not capitalize the entire word, I find no fault with doing that. But to not capitalize the Name of God and any attributes pertaing to Him is also an unthinkable thing to me.

When I see people type "god" I am forced to wonder of whom they speak. For indeed there are many many gods but there is only ONE GOD! And considering what Jesus has done for us, just the suffering alone, seems we could surely Honor Him by capitalizing His Precious Sweet and Holy Name!

It is always a fear of mine that in typing too quickly I might inadvertently fail to capitalize His Name. and when I do find such a typo I correct it immediately. It seem almost blasphemous to me! I agree with you.

What I love about the Afrikaans language is that we never speak to God as You. We use ‘U’ and it is much more respected as using the word you or your. Even also use this to speak to our parents. We race our children to never speak to their parents using the ‘you or your’ words. Either you will say mom or dad or the capital u. Something like this “Hi Mom, where have Mom been all the time, I was looking for Mom and did not think that Mom was busy with the laundry”

It is very annoying to see disrespectfulness towards the using of the name of God, in writing and also verbally.

To use God’s name in vain is not only swearing but also to use it ineffectively or inappropriate. You cannot enter successfully into the throne room of God with praise and worship if you abuse God’s name in everyday living.

I agree with Susan – Let us honor God also by writing God’s name with capital letters.

Thanks for posting this! I have been STUNNED at how many Christians don't seem to understand this!
