• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Although I am a firm believer in OSAS, does this mean that my salvation is canceled?

Susan, I don't believe that what your father said has any bearing on your salvation. Salvation is a matter that is between you and God. It is not based on the cruel words said by someone else. Your earthly father can not cancel your salvation.

I do agree with others here who have stated your father needs help. But it sounds like at this point, he is in denial. I just pray for your family's safety and that he will realize that words hurt just as bad as physical abuse. And that he will seek counseling to help him deal with whatever has caused his change in behavior.

(And just a note, this is the Prayer forum. Please restrict your responses to prayer and advice, not debating the doctrine of OSAS. There are other forums in which that would be more appropriate. Thank you for your cooperation!)

Susan. I was wandering how your mother feels about this.Have you talked to her privately about how use feel & how you precieve the situation. Does she know just how much you are really hurting, & how afraid you are? Gods word says:" God has not given us the spirit of fear but of peace & a sound mind"
Father God I come to you in your son Jesus Christ holy name , I am agreeing with my sister in the Lord & praying that you will give her peace in the mist of the firey storm. Father you 've calmed stormy waters before & were asking you to do it again. You said when 2 or 3 are join together In your name that you are in our mist & what so ever we shall ask it shall be done.So please father intervin with my sister's father, remove all the blinders in his path, & bind up the enemy & cast them from this father & this family, This family belonges to you lord & the devil must take his hands off them in Jesus Christ holy name. Camp your angels all about this family, & protsct them as the enemy try's to steal, kill, & distroy this family, give them the peace that you have promised us, & father teach them how to forgive the hurt thats been done to them, & put this family back together, You say Father you have not because you ask not, we are asking, & now we are believing & are claiming this in your precious son Jesus Christ holy name , AMEN

Dear God I pray for Susan. She is hurting and I know you don't want any of your children to hurt. I pray the she will be able to speak humbly but honestly when she is hurting. I pray for confidence and wisdom to bothe be able to speak and know when the right time to do so. I pray you will open her father's eyes to see when he is damaging her, this precious gift you have given him to protect and nurture to be like you. Soften his heart so that he can look to the best example of fatherhood there is.....YOU!! I pray for healing in this family. Claiming this all in Jesus name. Amen

From MartinB:

Hi Susan

The Holy Spirit has revealed the following:

Your father is a Christian.

"You are no longer a slave of sin but have become a slave of GOD able to choose the richeousness rather than being bound to the old nature. Obedience to the word of GOD gains a new nature of holiness. Say no to sin whenever it confronts you. Recognise that you are really free from it's demands"

Basically your father is a Christian but the Lord has revealed that he is still living in the flesh. He must allow the Holy Spirit to operate and NOT the flesh.

Praise God

Susan,
You are caught in the Middle it seems.
I know you desire a relationship with your Dad in a Christian way. But in process you Dad has damage your self esteem.
Let us be your Shoulder to lean on during this trying time. You ARE a Child of God and NO human Being can take that away if you don't let them.
We will Lift you up in Prayers and Your Dad as well. Rest in the Fact that your Brothers and Sisters stand beside you in time of needs.
May God be with you in this time of need.
