Just my opinion, but talk with your Pastor first. I love coming to this site to fellowship with other believers but there are some answers that you should only receive from people you can trust. I'm not saying that anyone here will try to steer you wrong but your Pastor is your sheperd. God works through order and the correct order starts with the head of your church. just my opinion though. I will pray for you and your situation. If you still need advice we (CF) will still try to help. God Bless!

Hearnoevil,

I do not have any advice, but I can sympathise. My father also believes he could do a better job than God and thinks he is just a bad christian. I don't think he is a christian at all.

It is hard, but I am fortunate that i do not have to live with my father.

I try not to argue with my father. I know it will not help. Even Jesus remained silent when it was appropriate. He know words would not make a difference.

God bless...

Be very very patient, live a good Christian life..i.e. Go to church, read the bible, do well in school, do some volunteer work. People are always watching what you do and if you live your life as a good example of a true servant of Christ that might help open your father's eyes.

peace-

What to do, what to do..........PRAY It's the biggest and best thing that you can do to help him from this hole that he's in. My dad claims to be a Christian "sometimes" but I continue to pray and I'm being taught (by God) how to love him again. Continue to love your dad, don't desert him, he's confused, you are the light on his path, don't leave him alone in the dark.

That's tough. My dad and I don't see eye to eye on a lot of things, but I think we're pretty even on the Christianity level. We don't talk about it much, but if I were you, I'd try to show my dad, without being argumentative, that Jesus was perfect, or anything else that's written in the bible that will show him he's wrong.. without trying to start a fight.

Hi hear ,

The first thing to do in a difficult situation is praise The Lord with understanding , of His Greatness and Undying Love .

The Lord inhabits his people's praise ! ( See Psalm 22:3 )

You should clearly give thanks that you are enlightened enough to know not to follow , or believe in , that which sharply contradicts with the testimony of Jesus , in this matter .

Surely , anyone following their ungodly lusts , cannot be trusting in The Lord at the same time .[ If that is indeed the case with him ? ]

For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? <-----> Luke 6:43-46

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. <-----> John 8:34

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? <-----> Romans 6:16

Satan wants us to either believe we've got no potential at all for being accepted by God .

Or that , we can be accepted by Him , without following the Spirit of Jesus Christ , which affirms the Lord's instructions to us daily .

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

I don't know the context of the quote you gave as your Dad's -" Jesus was not perfect ..."

If I was to try and find any way in which this could have some sense of truth , ( realizing that words have a variety of possible meanings ) , I would look at this Scripture -

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him . <-----> Hebrews 5:8+9

This is referring to the human element in Jesus , that had to be disciplined and brought into subjection , even as do we , with ours .

One could say then , that Jesus wasn't perfect in human form , until his humanity was brought under complete subjection to God ; which required that he lay down his life for our sinful souls' sake .

And these thing's he did without sin !

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. <-----> Hebrews 4:15

But until Jesus fulfilled the law and all that was written concerning him ; he was not yet perfect - in the sense of not having fulfilled God's perfect will in it's entirety .

So in this sense , one could say Jesus was not perfect , as a man , until he had fully submitted to The Father's will .

But , if you're Dad meant - Jesus wasn't perfect ,[ either ], as an attempt to justify our own contradicting of the Spirit of Truth .

That's a whole other issue . One of denial , and deceit .

Pray for him .

We can be sure , that if any knew now , what we will know then ( Day of The Lord ) , we would sooner die as a martyr , then commit even the smallest offence against God !

Darkness is not whisked away , but by the Light of Jesus Christ .

Keep taking those steps which open us up to letting Him Shine !

Namely believing on his Word , with a good conscience towards God .

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. <-----> Isaiah 60:1+2

Thanks for asking " hear no evil " , I needed to hear this advice !

Sincerely ,

wm

what do you mean ?

When , I prayerfully seek the Lord to guide me by His Spirit , in the offering of a reply to a question , or a course of advice to someone in need .

Often much of what I hear spoken into my mind , is something I have not heard before , at least not in in the same application , or with the quite same emphasis .

I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad. <-----> Psalm 119:96

ok well what he said was there were three levels of heaven ..... not earth space and then Heaven

Hi hear ,

Subject matter of this kind , often only serves to distract us from issues which truly need our attention .

3 levels , 7 levels , 144,000 levels .....

The details will be made known when the time is right .

That is if our faith and our allegiance to God and His Christ allow us to enter , such a Blessed State .

This is a word of wisdom once given me -

Dwell on the things which are most assuredly God's Will for your life , for that is where the spiritual profitting , which you need , will be found .

Mercy , Truth , and Peace , In The Beloved ,

My family was not Christian. In many ways the either resented or opposed my Christian comittment. It was painful and unpleasant. My response to honour God was to continue to be responsible and non critical of my parents. I knew that one day I would leave home, and would then be free to live my own life. It was hard at times, but we are told to honour our parents. Also, as we get older we handle differences (at least some of us do) a lot better.
