Hi. I hope this is in the correct category. I need your opinions on something. Several years ago, when I was in high school I took a swim class, which was required at the time for everyone. I didn't know how to swim, so I stuck to the shallow end. When I was moving around, I noticed I didn't feel heavy at all. I looked around and saw everyone was staring at something in the deep end. It was me floating face down. Someone had been goofing around and knocked me in. I had hit my head on the way in the pool.

Then I saw two spirits come out of some kind of portal. One had a white like aura (but not brilliant) the other had a black aura (but not too dark). The lighter spirit claimed he was an angel. He said he didn't know who the other guy was (who didn't reveal himself). He tried to convince me to get back in my body. Maybe I would have a chance to survive this way. I told them I couldn't swim. They didn't seem too concerned. This was before I was officially a christian. I believed in God at the time, but wasn't officially saved. One of them said I was going to hell anyway, so what difference did it make if I lived or not. The other simply shrugged. I was so upset by this guy I tried to leave, he stopped me. This is the only time he interacted with me. The so called angel didn't seem to care if I lived or if I was going to hell. This upset me a great deal. I suggested someone jump in and save me. The one with the dark aura acted like that was a great idea and laughed. He whispered something to someone who finally jumped in and gave me CPR. I didn't remember this for a few weeks after. (maybe cause I had hit my head).

To this day I don't know if I encountered angels, demons or what. It couldn't have been a hallucination from my head blow, cause it was too vivid. I was wondering what you all think? This has bothered me since it happened. Do angels just not care like we thought? If I had been saved, would I have mattered more? Was I deceived? Where was God in all of this?

Hello lostgirl - welcome to CF,
Yes interesting experience but I wouldn't spend any more time or spiritual energy trying to decipher a meaning out of it all.
Angels are real and so are demons but what God desires it for us to interact with and to relate to Him and the people around us in the here and now.
The Christian according to The Bible has The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ by whom we can have continual communion with Our Father in Heaven.
I was interested by that part of your post where you said:-
This was before I was officially a christian. I believed in God at the time, but wasn't officially saved.
How did you/do believe that one "officially" becomes a Christian? :)
"Where was God in all of this?" Well where ever He was, praise and thanks to Him that you are alive to tell the tale.
Go well

Hello, thelostgirl101. I do not claim to be an expert on this subject, but I believe you encountered a demonic entity or entities. But the Lord was still watching over you!

If I may make a recommendation, there is a relatively short book written some years ago called "The Beautiful Side of Evil" by Johanna Michaelson which is easy reading and gives you a very personal experience of someone who got involved with the occult at an early age and even had their own spirit guide before becoming a Christian. The spirit guide she had told her that he was Jesus... of course, she thought it really was the Jesus in the Bible, but is was a false Jesus... a demon posing as Jesus. They are notorious liers and deceivers.

I highly recommend the book if you can get a copy of it. Because it is older and not that popular, you may have to get it from the internet. Just do a search for the book and author. If not, there are videos and some radio interviews with Johanna Michaelson on YouTube. I believe Johanna has past away, so they may not be recent.

Like all posts in this forum, you have got some very different answers.

I can say for certain that angels are not always sent to be on our side or not.... look at Joshua before he went on to destroy Jericho:

Joshua 5:13-14New International Version (NIV)

The Fall of Jericho
13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”

14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lorda]">[a] have for his servant?”

This angel admits that he is not for Joshua or Joshua's enemies.

Your experience shows the same non-concern from the one entity and ridicule from the other.

Whatever the reason, would you say that this episode was instrumental in influencing you to becoming a Christian?

If so, the entities did God's will and you made your choice.

As for anyone trying to tell you that we have many lives.... ya.... totally un- biblical and contrary to:

Hebrews 9:27King James Version (KJV)
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

There is no circle of life or tree of life.. There is conception, life, death and judgement. After that you will be in one of two places for eternity.

To add to what I said previously about Joanna Michaelson and the "Beautiful Side of Evil", here is a site you may find interesting:
The Beautiful Side of Evil | Amos 3:7 A love of The Truth

Also there is a video on Tube that you should find interesting, it is about channeling and the entities involved. It is an older documentary called "Who Goes there?" and was put out by Jeremiah Films. Here is a link:

Hi!

Angels and Demons are very real. Ephesians 6:12. The more spiritually mature we become, the more attuned we are to the spiritual realm (visions, revelations, dreams, prophecy, demons, angels, words of knowledge and spiritual discernment of what is actually Scripturally good, and what is Scripturally Evil).

Some naturally have a greater sense to the spiritual through spiritual gifts 1 Corinthians 12 Through obedience to the supernatural lifestyle of Christ and His Love.

There are false angels of light and evil spirits (demons) 2 Corinthians 11:14 that you may encounter in the supernatural. We are not entirely safe from them until we reach spiritual maturity (through study and obedience to God's Word). It sounds like you had an astral projection/spiritual encounter where deceitful spirits played with you, to show you how helpless you are apart from Christ.

Understand that God does not send these to people himself (James 1:16-21)

"Do not be misled, my beloved brothers and sisters. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes]. It was of His own will that He gave us birth [as His children] by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits of His creatures [a prime example of what He created to be set apart to Himself—sanctified, made holy for His divine purposes]."

However, they may afflict us if we are not saved and sanctified by our belief in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Unbelievers are always vulnerable to these things. New believers are vulnerable (to a degree) if they do not study and live the gospel of the Word of God (Christ). In this case, these demons/evil spirits/false angels of light may have inspired fear and led you to the calling God wants for you.

"The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of wisdom [its starting point and its essence],
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding and spiritual insight."

In Christ,

Victor :)

...This has bothered me since it happened. Do angels just not care like we thought? If I had been saved, would I have mattered more? Was I deceived? Where was God in all of this?

I think more important is to know, God cares. God loves even His enemies.

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
Mat. 5:44-45

In Biblical point of view, God is the greatest and all things are in His hands. Angels are just God’s servants or messengers.

Also, in Biblical point of view, this world is not the goal. So, if you are saved, it is in higher level than this world that can actually be called the first death. This is why, saving your physical life in this death is not necessary the best thing. Best, in Biblical point of view, is to save your life to God’s Kingdom and save your soul. For that, it is not necessary best do things as people usually think. For example, the “angel” may have given you better opportunity to save your soul than the “black angel”. Things are not always straightforward. And that is why I wouldn’t take what you saw too heavily. I would take it as start for your journey to righteousness. And I hope people remember this:

"Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds! Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height? If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith? Don't seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious. For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek God's Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.
Luke 12:22-31

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
Matt. 16:25-26

Often what has happened is not the point, what you do after that is what matters. All lessons can be used for good or evil, it depends on you for what you want to use it. :)

Hey there thelostgirl101!, let's clear some things, you are a spirit, with a soul that lives in a body :), when God created man in his "image" and after his "likeness" that was referring to your spirit because God is a spirit, now however, the spirit we have is a fallen spirit due to the sin we inherit from Adam and Eve (sin disconnected us from God), now when we are saved, or born-again (will provide how in a sec), your spirit is reborn, it is born in the image of Christ, and is righteous by nature, this spirit is connected directly with God because it's literally born of God, you are joint with him as one, 1 Corinthians 6:17 "But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.", now when you die, this spirit lives on, the natural spirit not born of God dies due to sin since it is the price for it, Jesus was the first begotten of the dead (second death or spiritual death, we who are born again are the rest born from death, what baptism symbolises as taking place in the spirit, the old is washed away and the new arises), anyway when you hit your head, you were outside of your body, it wasn't a dream but rather seeing from your spirit, now that experience may have been God showing you something, what you saw may have been for your learning, in fact both those beings or entities were probably demons who didn't actually have a say in weather you died in that moment or not but that doesn't mean they couldn't interact with you,
1 John 4:3 "and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is already in the world at this time."

John 3:5 "Jesus answered “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit."

Now to be born-again is in, Romans 10:9-10,
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Here's it in a prayer format, doesn't matter which one you use, you will be saved/born-again by either. :).

"Oh Lord God, i come to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Your Word says, whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved.
I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life.
I receive eternal life into my spirit.
I declare that i am saved, i am born again, i am a child of God.
I now have christ dwelling in me, i am a New Creation Hallelujah!"

“Oh Lord God, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Your word says,
“…that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.
I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. I believe Jesus died for me and that he was buried and raised from the dead. Right now, I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord of my life. I receive by faith eternal life into my spirit. Thank you lord for saving my soul. I now have Christ dwelling in me. I am saved, I am born again, I am a new creation. Halleluyah!

The other might not have been or seemed concerned, possibly because the other one was lying, or, and I have a particular theory about what hell actually is, (and the one probably didn't have enough time to explain this), but you would have been reborn or reincarnated "here" which is what I believe hell really is, and that we are all re-born either here or there, possibly reborn many times till we transcend to there and it might have known this to be your destiny either way... The one might have shrugged at the other one, thinking, "Oh, OK, you had to pull and play that card, Huh? Oh, well, doesn't matter, she'll get another chance to be with us and will be with us in time, but you will not." The one might have also been possibly trying to protect their secret about what hell actually is, possibly, because the fear of hell has saved many over the years, and if they knew the truth, that would be gone and many would be lost...

But, I suspect he/it shrugged more to and in response to the other one who was also using the fear of hell, but, I just don't think, in light of your situation, the one did not have enough time to explain or didn't want or wasn't ready for the secret of that to be brought to light... He was probably angry at the other one who said that to you... Also, like I said, the one might have been lying, cause he is allowed to lie, and the other one has to be honest, and you might not have actually gone to hell afterward...

Any of these scenarios could be true...

But, I don't think the one was concerned cause he knew that while the other one maybe wasn't totally lying, he was definitely intending to "deceive", and the one knew you would have either, got another chance, after you died, or it was a complete lie and you would have actually gone to heaven... Or it knew, that even if you had to be reborn here, in hell, again, it might have known your eventual destiny to be heaven either way, and therefore wasn't that concerned about it, more for the other one to see and know I think, than you...

Saying to the other one, "So, what... She will be with us, in time, you have nothing, oh, enemy..."

The one laughing knew they had "got you" and "got" the other one with that whole "hell" bit. And perhaps he did, but no longer, it's time for the charade and facade to come down, no more fear...

So, as you can see, good angels have quite a different perspective on only the first death here than we do, my dear...

Just my theory...

God Bless!

The western and eastern views on re-incarnation differ greatly... The west see's it, as a good, positive thing... While the east see's it as a bad, negative thing...

The east view's it as a fate we cannot escape based on our karma, and that our karma is maybe never good enough to escape, or transcend this, into a higher form, which their religions try to change by self-effort and our own good, or righteousness... Consequently, this is the same as the old way in the OT, to show it's failure and point to Christ...

I think the eastern view is correct, and that it is what hell really is... We cannot transcend or escape it due to our karma, without help or divine assistance, and that assistance is Christ...

Only through and by him can we escape our fate and transcend this place, into a better, higher one, in a higher form...

What do you think...?

God Bless!

Funny, I don't see it saying that, karma is the same as you reap what you sow (without Christ) and is a universal truth...

Universal Truth's...?

I simply said the term was pagan (derived from a different religion). (Actually, this begs the question, what does it mean to be IN/WITH Christ? Simply praying a prayer?)

You have Christ "in" your "heart" and soul... You must invite him in to have this...

If there would have been another "one word" for the "concept" of reaping what you sow, other than "karma" I would have used that, unfortunately I don't think there is one... The principle of "Reciprocity" maybe...?

God Bless!

Karma- (in Hinduism and Buddhism) the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.

I don't think they can assume that, when they don't, and there is no way, to know... Although while it could be, there is, and probably will never be, any of evidence of such past, or future lives... The spirits in us possibly, but there is absolutely no way to know, and will probably never be... I mean it as it applies to this one life that we can know, here...

Christ did seem to imply that he was "Redeeming the sins of the past" which would be all those connected to his ancestral line, all the way back to Adam, which would be all of us...

He is called a "kinsman redeemer", not only sins of the past, but present and future as well, to all who would believe and accept him as such...

I only know, either way, we cannot do it, "we" "fail", and that is the main point, pointing to Christ...

God Bless!

God used Satan to get Job's attention and that's what he uses to get that attention of all his chosen believers and servants.

You're of your father, Satan. He loves the Bible with a passion and hates anyone who speaks for God via the Holy Spirit.

In the story of Job, GOD removed HIS HEDGE. That is the only way that Satan was allowed to get to Job. Before that time, a hedge ( known by Satan also) was around JOB. But no worries, GOD knows HIS SERVANT(s) and JOB proved faithful and did not curse GOD. He certainly didn't understand what was happening but he didn't blaspheme/blame/ curse GOD
All fools will recommend going to a false prophet to hear their lies instead of trusting the work of the Lord in their lives.
Who is the LORD?
And what is HIS WORK?
