• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

so, my daughter told me to stop smoking (she's 5). she bugs me all the time. one day i said "well you eat mcdonald's and that is bad for you, so unless you want to stop eating mcdonalds you can't ask me to quit" (i now it was a bad thing to say, no excuses)

toda she says "mommy, i'm never going to eat mcdonalds again. you have to stop smoking now. if i eat mcdonalds then ou can have a cigarrette. but i'm going to be healthy so you will be"

smart little punk.

i quit.

I'm so happy you quit. My kids bugged me to quit too. My little girl would lecture me on the 4000 deadly chemicals that i was producing by lighting up. Then came the 1000 people die a day thing (something like that). They are the reason I quit though. I want to see them grow up and have babies etc.

ps you're not going to be able to get much past your daughter. My 7 year old son is real smart like that too.;)

I'm glad you posted this. It's good that your child can see what's healthy and what isn't. my nephew is 8 and eats so much he throws up from eating too much (mcdonalds and burger king). he doesn't know that i smoke though. i may try that on him, and see if it works so both of us can be healthy.
thanks again for posting this. you've given me inspiration to quit!
