My Dad.

Hi. I'm not a christian - but my family and I were, a long while ago.

Anyway. I'm requesting prayers for my Dad right now. It seems I've tried everything else. He suffers a great deal from a mental illness and a physical illness. He no longer wants to be here anymore, and hasn't for a long time. It hurts a great deal to see him in pain both emotionally and physically, and I just want him to find peace. To be at peace with himself, with the world. With who he is and why he's here. Aside from his emotional problems, his physical problems affect him in every day life. His back is incredibly sore at the moment and he is surviving on very little sleep. He's a wreck, y'know?

It would be very much appreciated if you guys would pray for him. It seems like my last option - I don't know what else to do.

Dear Father, I pray for this young lady and her father, that You would have mercy on them, that You would show Yourself strong on their behalf and restore wholeness and health to their family, body, soul and spirit.

Father, I pray that You would reveal Yourself to this family in all Your goodness, and holiness and truth. Make Yourself real to them, and grant them peace and comfort from Your word. Draw them near to You and show them Your salvation. In the matchless name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Dear Peri, I am praying that your father will recognize and feel Gods Love in his life, for that is all we need. I also pray for you, that he will continue to use you for his good, as he did with this prayer request for your dad.
I can completely relate, my father is as well going through a very tough emotional time, and so often it is seems hopeless, but I know and trust in the Lord, that he has a plan and purpose for everything, so I pray that you will grow in Faith to realize that he will use this all for A Greater Purpose. Father thank you for your love for my friends dad, thank you that you love him beyond all that he knows. God we pray tonight for a healing in his mind and body, god you alone know the illnesses inside him and you alone can heal him. i pray that you bring a peace to his mind lord and bring him back onto the path you have for him, use this time god and draw him and his family back into your arms again. Give his family strength and grace lord to help this dad in his time of need.

It's so hard to care for people we feel responsible for, when there is so little we can do. It sounds like you care about him a lot.

On another thread, the topic came up on the difference between the soul and the mind. Somewhere deep down, there is a healthy soul that is separate from his distressed mind and pained body... and deep in that being, he loves you and probably wishes he could fix all this.

Lord, you know the excruciating pain he lives with -- relieve him. Help him find solutions that will not add more problems. Show him a way out, to live a live with more normalcy. Bring Your healing power into his mind and body, and refresh him.
