Science-tists are notorious for telling us how to interpret the Bible, when in reality, that is how they interpret It.

What, in your opinion, is science-tists' single greatest contribution to misinterpreting the Bible?

As this is asking a question about interpreting the Bible (or misinterpreting) don't you think this would be better posted on one of the Christian-only forums and that it is off-topic for this forum; and only will garner flames and goads?

Do you honestly not realize that geocentrism is a doctrine that originated from ultra-literalist Christians? Scientists had nothing to do with it. We've had many Christian posters here who were geocentrists. There is a plethora of historical records showing church authorities promoting geocentrism. Yet whenever you're confronted with this evidence you stick your head in the sand and go back to your imaginary narrative where no Christian ever held geocentric beliefs, and the entire idea was created by scientists to mock the Bible. How can you be so willfully ignorant?

geocentrism; I had to look that up:

In astronomy, the geocentric model (also known asgeocentrism, or the Ptolemaic system) is a superseded description of the universe with the Earth at the center. Under the geocentric model, the Sun, Moon, stars, and planets all circled Earth.

Isn't that also called "flat-earth theory" and didn't at one time in the distant past; both scientist and religious organizations believe in this?

I'll say YES to this; but as I'm trying to get a feel for how others think, I'm willing to put up with the goading for the sake of learning.

HOWEVER, if you feel it belongs elsewhere, then feel free to move it; but I don't think it's going to do much in a Christians-only forum.

Why then did I say this?

So if Joshua was geocentric (and I don't really see why he wouldn't be), and God honored his request without coming back with something like, "Ask Me right, and I'll do it." --- then what's the problem?

Why all the moaning and groaning that the Bible teaches geocentrism?

It's not so much as Joshua being geocentric as it is you guys interpreting the Scriptures geocentrically.
