Hi folks
I am Peter, 69yrs young, (don’t laugh), as I almost drowned as a 9yo ( I hear giggling ), but fortunately God had a lot to show me, so a man appeared, where there wasn’t one before, & decided to end my coughing & spluttering, & yanked me from the sea.
I guess that convinced me, maybe there is a God looking out for me! Of course, I was having too much fun growing up, to bother finding out about Him until my 20s.
living in a communal house with 3 other guys we would frequent 3 or 4 pubs that had folk & rock bands. One pub in Peterborough UK was called “The Gladstone Arms” which spawned Billy Bragg, before he went solo, & Colin Hodgkinson (Peterborough man) who went on to the band Whitesnake & also with Jan Hammer, who I think did the Miami Vice theme, but definitely played keyboards with “Mavishnu Orchestra”. Anyway, I digress, (hopefully someone is still reading & yawning, at the same time!). There was also a local band that was really popular, & after their set, I bought the lead singer/guitarist, called Roman, a drink. We hit it off, & would come to the house once a week with guitar & bible! (Ahh, you say, this guy might eventually get to the point! Don’t count your chickens yet!)
The thing is, he was studying with the Jehovah’s Witnesses, meaning half our time was him showing me his teaching, which I put up with, to get to the fun time, jamming! Eventually I went to study group night with him, until the Kingdom Hall beckoned, where eventually I had my 2mins of JW fame, where a microphone at the end of a 6’ stick was thrust in front of me, to read out The Watchtower, I was so easily pleased. Until the fateful day that 2 of JW elders paid me a random visit. Upshot being, I was living with my girlfriend, who took a dislike to what they were saying, & stormed out. I then took my turn disliking them, when they said “she has the devil in her”. I politely, (maybe) asked them to go, & so ended my JW time, where I was blacklisted. You might want to put the kettle on, that’s just the beginning!
This girlfriend became my wife, & it was her turn to lure me to our local Anglican Church, where eventually I said the so-called sinners prayer, which I thought, at the time, I became born again. After 3 or 4 years of that, including the Bishop signing the cross on my forehead (2nd water baptism, after my infant baptism), we explored the local community church, which had a good worship band! (More up my street!). The marriage fell apart, she got married & went to a baptist church, whilst I joined the Pentecostal church. This was during the so-called Toronto blessing of the 90’s, all the rage, at the time, & I could be seen rolling around the floor, laughing or speaking in tongues. You may be thinking “this man is just out to entertain himself”, but no, I took it seriously at the time, so much so that I destroyed some of my rock cds, thinking, at the time, it’s the devil’s music (that harks back to JW days).
let me clarify, I was seeking God’s Truth all through these times, right up to present, & in each doctrine there was elements of Truth. Anyway, through watching Christian TV, I took the opportunity to go to Israel, twice within 5yrs. The 1st time, I got fully immersed in the River Jordan for my 3rd baptism.
All change again, when I saw this man on YouTube teaching on a white board about Xmas being pagan, which spoke to me, & about predestination. I, at this point, hadn’t been to a church for about 3yrs, as I had already researched that Xmas was pagan, but could not find a church that didn’t celebrate it, except the JW’s! (No I didn’t!)
Anyway, I wasn’t going all the way across the pond to Grace & Truth Ministries of Tennessee, so they sent me free dvd teachings of Jim Brown’s 1hr 40mins talks. I thought this was it, until over 2yrs ago, I subscribed to Terral03.com newsletters. This coincided with the “plandemic” that has dominated our lives. I thought he covered the real news stories well. It took more time to understand his “BlackStar” in space stuff, & even more his very different doctrine that describes 3 witnesses, 2 Gospels, 4 Baptisms etc, that in the last 2 months i have had a lightbulb moment where it all makes sense.
I can compare it to when I 1st heard Radiohead, & thought them weird & melancholy, but 10yrs on, for me, no other band comes close. Just to be clear, I hardly ever listen to the lyrics of anyone, the voice is just another instrument that creates the right atmosphere for whatever mood fits. My point being anything a bit challenging needs time, to then discover the Truth.
God has a sense of humour to allow me to stumble through, & hopefully prove to Him a serious commitment to find the hidden things of God hidden in plain sight. This doctrine also fits in with God’s Gematria, as the numbers are like God, The same, yesterday, today & forever, & don’t change, unlike the thousands of denominations, & countless different doctrines, that we debate, argue & defend. I rest my case, or derrière, or both!
Blessings
Peter
