I used to be good at such chess problems. It's been faaaar to long.

Rook takes bishop. king can either move out of the way or take rook. either way mate can be forced

Is that a legit chess problem, or one you came up with? I see two ways to put black in check, neither seems to sufficiently narrow blacks options, turning it more into a slow attrition than a forced mate.

Everyone who follows the world championships has seen that one before. In addition to what AV said, if black takes the queen with the king, Rh8 is mate.
