My brothers... Firefighters Club

I thought it might be interesting to start a Firefighters club here on the CF forums.

There are many things we see and wish we didnt. Things we have to deal with that some people just dont understand. But we all understand eachother. The reason I started this club is for us to help eachother with the things we have seen and had to endure.

Please feel free to share your stories or anything else you feel you want to share, and I will pray with and for you.

[font=Arial,Helvetica][size=-2]Born in 250 AD he was a member of the Roman Army and was sentenced to death by fire by Emperor Diocletian when he refused to follow orders and persecute all Christians in the area. Standing on the pile erected to be set on fire killing him, Florian challenged the Roman soldiers to start the fire and said, " If you do, I will climb to heaven on the flames." Fearful of Florian, the soldiers had him drowned instead.

Florian was made a Saint by Pope Lucius III, and later a person was reported to have been saved from fire by praying to St. Florian. Since then St. Florian has generally been regarded as the patron Saint of the fire service.[/size][/font]

A Firefighter's Prayer

When I am called to duty, God
Wherever flames may rage
Give me strength to save some life
Whatever be its age
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person from
the horror of that fate

Enable me to be alert
and hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out

I want to fill my calling
and to give the best in me
to guide my friend and neighbor
and to protect their property

Cool... I totally forgot about this post, because when I checked it last it had dropped a few pages! I am glad to see that there are firefighters here on the CF boards!
