My Boss Wouldn't Use My First Name

Hi pals! I am always thinking about what to do about my boss's bad human relations. He would not even call me by name and prefer to called me "that guy!" . he will just shout to me and say, Call me this or do that! Without calling my attn first. What do I do? I want to resign from working with him. He is a Christian too.

well, I was a production supervisor and I would not call this one guy by his name, but that was only because his name was my middle name and I absolutly hate my middle name, it took me a long time before I called him by his name but it wasn't until he confronted me and I told him why, he was very understanding though after I told him the story of why I hate my middle name......but it took that for me to be able to call him by his name....(no I'm not telling you what my middle name is, I still hate it )

Do you have other job prospects?

Quit calling him by name

Bring it to his attention and tell him you feel its discriminatory or defaming

Go over his head to a superior if possible

I would probably confront him, or just start calling him "Hey" and see if he likes it, and if he says "I have a name it's so and so" then you say, "Right on. So do I would you please use it?"

Hi....I think you should do the same to him....Don't call him by his name,and confront him,ask him why he doesn't use your first name when speaking to you. As far as him being a Christian,lets just say he is a RUDE Christian!

He's your boss, it would be stupid and petty to do the same to him. Just pull him aside and explain you have a hard time with the way he addresses you. Tell him your not sure who he's talking to sometimes when he does not call you by name. Tell him you only want to do your best by him and it would help if he could use your name to clarify things.
