Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he [it is] that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
--Deuteronomy 31: 6
And the LORD, he [it is] that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
--Deuteronomy 31:8
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved
--Psalm 55:22
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
-John 14:1
Remember these verses. Write down or type it a buncha' times so it can sink in.
Oh yeah, when troubling times come, run to God and keep trusting. Don't let your heart be troubled.
When you feel like breaking down, start praying. Thank God for the good things, even when you're saddened. Pray for your parents, that they might come back together. And remember God's will. He has a plan, so just trust in Him. Sometimes, for us, the plan seems to be hard and well.. stupid. I know that's how I was.
My family was shaken because my brother's family fell apart, and his children went away to another town with his now ex-wife. Then he attempted suicide, but I believe God intervened when he heard one of his daughter's voice saying "Daddy, look!" His daughter wasn't in the house, but he said her voice sounded so clear.
I was overcome with grief, anger, and hate. Instead of choosing to trust God, I acted upon my own anger and began cursing God. I still regret doing that.
Jesus went into the wilderness for 40 days, eating nothing. He was tempted by the devil, but at each temptation, he countered them with Scripture.
He didn't use flashly lightning and earthquakes.
He didn't breathe flames at the devil.
He didn't fight back with a sword.
He used Scripture. And in the same way, we can, too.
EDIT: I will be praying for you.
