  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am a great cat lover and have 2 lovely cats - Smokey a long-haired white/grey tom and Chloe a short-haired white/tortie female (BTW, I named her after Chloe Williams in the Left Behind series! :D ). They are both 2 years old. I got Smokey a month after my last cat Suki passed away  then I got Chloe to keep him company when I am not there. They are both adorable but have different personalities. Smokey is very affectionate and outgoing while Chloe is a little shy. Are there any other cat lovers here?

Hey there,

We used to have a cat when we were growing up called Jemima - a white female chinchilla - who I dearly loved.
I think she loved me the most in my family because I always treated her special. I used to wink at her and she would wink back (ha ha!). One time when I was the only one at home looking after her she came into my bedroom when I was asleep wanting me to wake up to give her some breakfast. I woke up and she was sitting on my chest touching my nose with her paw.
I had to leave jemima with my parents when I left town and I never saw her again.
I sometimes think about getting another cat, but I'm always thinking about jemima. I have this crazy idea that when I get to heaven, God will somehow be able to bring me together with her again. :)

Ah I love my cat, Bogowon!! My mom named him after a criminal who embezzled money to India (don't ask) And I was really scared we were going to lose him last year because he lost alot of weight to the point where he looked like skin and bones and the doctors couldn't do anything. Well turns out my cat has diabetis (yes, it exists in cats) and we have to inject human insulin into him twice a day. Most people think thats crazy to do that twice a day just for a cat but I can't stand the thought of losing him! Glad to see some other cat lovers on here!
