Every day you and your friend walk past the same apple tree. You see the buds, then the flowers, then the fruit develop in order. One day an apple falls off a tree, into your friend's hand. Your friend tells you it was created ex nihilo, and shows you a 3,000 year old book which says apples are created ex nihilo.

Who do you believe? Your friend's book, or your own senses?

I believe the book because the book says to believe the book and if you don't believe the book you're going to go to hell. So believe the book. Would you like to hear my testimony? I've witnessed some amazing things. One day the hero of the book, Jebas, is going to return to us and take us all, or 144,001 of us, or something, to heaven with him. So you need to be prepared. All you have to do is believe in him. And do good deeds. And swear the Jebas scout pledge. Then you'll go to heaven too. Did I mention you have to eat some of Jebas and drink his blood? That too. Would you like to hear my testimony? Believe the book. It says to. That and something about lepers.

We believe the universe and all that is within it was created in 6 literal days because of one thing. JESUS RAISING UP FROM THE DEAD.

Fin.

Since HE rose up from the dead, then Gen. 1:1 is correct and right. Then HE really did create the entire universe in 6 literal days.

Guess what? HE rose up from the dead! Now you are hosed!

SOLI DEO GLORIA.

Who told you Jesus rose from the dead? The same book? The book which wants you to think it's the word of God? Not exactly a neutral source...

What evidence do you have? Aside from those oft-contradictory books in the new testament. I want evidence from outside your holy book.

In my innocent little way, I assumed that because your other posts indicated that you believed the account in Genesis to be factual, that you were a YEC. Are you a YEC?

Unfortunately, as much as I want to be one, I am not. I don't feel I can adequately defend that position. My pastor, who has two doctorates, is a YEC --- but I'm not.

Can I ask what you are, then?

For lack of a better term --- I refer to myself as an Embedded-Age Creationist.

(Also, are your pastor's degrees from Bible Colleges or normal ones?)

Don't quote me on this, but I think he has a Doctor of Theology from Greensboro [North Carolina] Baptist College; and a Doctor of Divinity honorary degree from Pensacola Christian College.

His thesis was on the book of Deuteronomy --- his favorite book of the Bible.
