America did ok after the abolition of slavery

But did all those slaves just get up and go? No, as Speedwell said, the ex-slaves were still there, they were just getting paid for their work.

Also, I'm thinking that the Egyptians themselves must have had skilled workers besides the Israelites. They may have had other slaves as well.

Is there any evidence for this or are you just guessing?

Its all speculation however, because it was so long ago. We cant even trust historical records made in the last 200 years, let alone many thousand years ago.

Such as the Bible?

They may have had skilled farmers, but they needed many hands to actually do the work.

You said it best: 'Right'.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=sarcasm

Have you read everything the Egyptians ever wrote?

No. But every piece of Egyptian writing we have has been read by someone at some point. Surely they would have jumped at the chance to bring such a text to the public attention?

If not, how do you explain the fact that Mo Natcha mighta et them writings?

Yes. Come up with all sorts of crazy theories to hold onto your unsupported beliefs. You really think the only evidence would be a few pieces of written records?

I personally believe some did write it down -- but God didn't preserve it.

How convenient.

What was the name of Pharaoh's camel?

Of course. I don't know some incredibly tiny, specific detail, therefore there really was an exodus. Wow, you've convinced me!

Mother Nature can be harsh, can't she?

Once again, you cling to outrageous retcons to maintain your unsupported viewpoint.

Well, for the record, the library at Alexandria was burnt down; so sorry for their luck -- and yours.

That is not how the burden of proof works.

You make the claim, you back it up.
I'm not trying to prove anything, my confidence is steadfast. I have no need to prove anything. I know where my strength and hope is found.

I see where the battle lines are drawn, and I see a hole in the flanks of debate. The burden of proof is not a burden but a broken down wall, utterly destroyed by Gods own hand. Only those with ears can hear, and eyes can see, why then must I prove anything? Is that not Gods job?

Good for you, brother!

My pulpit-pounding pastor once started out his sermon saying they found a chariot wheel at the bottom of the Red Sea; but then he added, 'Not that we Christians need physical evidence. If we do, then we have a problem trusting the Bible.'

If 0 were "all doubt," and 100 is "all confidence," how confident on that scale are you the Exodus happened as recorded in the OT?

I love what brother Mack Ford once told us.

He held his Bible high in the air, ran down the aisle and shouted:

"I MIGHT BE A NUT, BUT I'M SCREWED ON TO THE RIGHT BOLT!!!"

Well, I dont care about your faith but if you make claims about reality you have to back it up.

Otherwise its just empty claims.

You have a brother?
Spiritual brothers are more closely knit than blood brothers, since the blood of Jesus Christ is more precious than any.
