  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am currently taking 3 art classes. One on Tuesday morning, one on Thursday afternoon, and one on Friday morning. I had one this morning. I am painting a landscape garden scene with an angel in acrylics. On Thursday I'm doing a landscape with bluebells. On Tuesday I am working on a watercolor of the same bluebell landscape. I finished two songbird in oil paintings on my Tuesday class with my private art teacher. She goes to the Methodist church I started going to and is a good Christian very dedicated to the church.

Best of Luck! I find painting a great way to relax. I live in the Peak District in the UK so am very luck to have fantastic scenery to draw on the door step. Before we lived here, though I would go for a walk in the city during my lunch break and take a little notebook. I could while away an hour sketching buildings and people.

I hope it goes well for you and you have lots of fun!

I used to draw as a child but as I grew older I sort of lost interest and I moved on to other things. I went to a Christian video game conference when I was 15 (this was over 10 years ago) and met a lot of video game developers; I showed them some of my artwork on fictional animals that I had done back then -- to my surprise I almost ended up making an actual video game with them but it fell through the floor and my artwork still sits on the shelf in my room in thick binders, forgotten and unused. We never made the game. It would have been my first one ever if we had ended up making it.

I remember meeting a striking young man named Corey, I think he was a programmer. I would have liked to have worked with him. I met someone else who was musician, he said he would supply me with video game music that he himself had composed if I ever needed it; both men were very hospitable chaps.

Sounds beautiful, I always wanted to learn how to do more nature and landscape work. I live on the shores on Lake Michigan and we always have beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
We are by the Great Lakes also; Canada and the US share 4 of the 5 Lakes. Lots of potential for artists...

A pity you could not continue with your talent...
