  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I first did a musical during my senior year of high school. It was Man of La Mancha and it practically changed my life. The story of Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote, winning the respect of the prisoners where he was imprisoned and awaiting the Spanish Inquistion, was awe-inspiring. I loved the song "The Impossible Dream." I was in a real rut before I did the show, but the inspiration brought me out of it. That was 34 years ago, and I continue to work in musical theatre to this day.

teehee! you guys are just too funny!! readin thru this whole thread in one sittin, well it gave me a good laugh on a boring monday evenin!! ^_^

and as for musicals??? love them, love them, love them. my favourites that i've seen, hmmm lion king, phantom, sound of music, my fair lady, joseph, fame was good too, oh and grease and little shop of horrors but they weren't professional productions well i was in them actually but only in the chorus, on my wishlist to see, les mis, miss saigon, oh and the lion king again, loved it so much!

character i'd like to play most, hmmm christine in phantom just for the satisfaction of hitting that top e every night and knowing that there was prob nobody else in the theatre who actually could!!! maria in west side story, also eliza in my fair lady but i've already played her, and maria in the sound of music. lol when i left school we had a silly awards ceremony, and i got given the 'julie andrews award'!!! but i don't care cos i think she's awesome!

if i had a different voice there's loads of parts i'd love but the opera stylee kinda voice only tends to go well in the older musicals and the andrew lloyd webber stuff, i can sing more broadway style if i try but it's not as good. so i'll stick with christine with her top e's!!!

ooh almost forgot, noone has mentioned gilbert and sullivan yet. I mean they invented musicals!!!! I've only seen pirates of penzance and the mikado, but they're awesome I'd love to play mabel in pirates! and then there's all the gershwin stuff, they're fab too, and yay i can sing gershwin!

anyway's this has got a bit too long :p
