Work with the convictions you have. Not the guilt, not the fear of what people will say, but actual concrete beliefs in what you want to promote in life.

A secular musician might highlight truth and bring attention to injustices, explain personal emotions and bring therapeutic mercy into experiences.

Then there are musicians who completely rip apart all that you hope to build up.

Make your choices wisely.

Yes. I enjoy classical music, as well as opera. I do draw the line at certain socalled contemporary music that seems to have the goal of tearing down all codes of morality.

Secular music is a joy to many Christians. Like any other entertainment (movies, books, games, etc.) there are lines that we are are better off not crossing. Not because of a set of rules, but because crossing our boundaries can impede our relationship with God. The key is to grow in our discernment so that we don't set our boundaries too tight or too loose. Both can have very negative consequences. Generally speaking, good judgement will come if you sincerely pray for it.
