  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As the title suggests I am interested in recording music and all the editing ect that goes with it. To be able to reproduce the best sound possible from recording setups. Especially for voice and guitar.

Not necessarily effects that enhance the music but capturing the most genuine sound of the voice and guitar.

I understand there are what they call sound cards or interfaces which is the device similar to a router that the sound waves go through which you can connect an instrument and microphones. There are various types. I think I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface.

Then there is the DAW or software. Forgive me I have not used the equipment for a few years so it may have updated. I was using Abelton and Cubase. I found Ableton to be good and easy to use. There were effects and virtual instruments.

I know there are Midis as well which incoporate effects, pads that can be used for beats and loops ect. There is a way of recoding loops and then overlaying them live.

I understand that there are different microphones as well for voice and instruments.

But primarily I am wanting to find the best way to record in a home studio.
