Limp Biscuit, Lincoln park and a few other newer bands have borrowed influences of off an old concept.(fusion) With the idea of conception like hip-hop/rap influencing rock the style is quite kick A**.. I'm always intrigued with how music progresses and what will be the next evolution. From the Base riffs of the TB303 (acid sounds) to mixing up Nina Simone to Felix da Housecat. In a way this will be a two part discussion.

A. Where do you see the progression of music.. Any Genre that you feel to talk about.

B. What do you think would be a kewl, fusion .. IE.. (the ones that started it) Aerosmith and Run D.M.C.

I don't care for fusion.
Why not? I always found the fusion of jazz with almost anything intriguing. But its mainly nothing new, indie rock +jazz influences = math rock. Maybe ill pave a genre appropriately dubbed "bluemograss". Figure it out.....

and B, though its not a standard fusion in a sense. I find this new trend of remixing Jay Z's Black Album w/ everything under the sun, ie Beatles, Metallica, Linkin Park, pretty entertaining.

I think music can stay fresh without fusion for a good while to come, especially music that talks about current things, politics, life etc. like jazz, blues, rap, the list goes on...

Well, yeah, but lyrics aren't the only thing in a song. Of course music can stay fresh without fusion, but I think it's an interesting idea that's produced some good music.
