I suspect many people do think this way. It seems to me that a black-and-white worldview promotes the taking of sides. The first question such a person asks is, “Whose side is this person/organization on?” Once that question is answered, critical thinking is abandoned, and loyality becomes the driving force in decision making. This type of thinking permeates society, not only in religious matters, but in economics, and of course, politics.

Yep, this is readily observed in society. Religion and politics stick out like a sore thumb, but Madison Avenue is adept at promoting brand loyalty. I have numerous friends and acquaintances who feel a person’s character is reflected by the brand of beer he drinks, the make of truck he drives, etc.

I have listened to Dr. James Kennedy and I feel he is very honest. He certainly uses scripture to back up scripture and quotes of people to back up his view of American History. I see no reason for him to lie. He has nothing to gain from it and everything to lose.

No I don't. Granted, I might lend more weight to the validity of an argument if a person is a trained biologist, but I don't have any problem questioning something. What matters is the evidence that supports a particular argument.

But scientists, after all, are human just like everyone else and can make mistakes and sometimes even lie.

Scripture and historical quotes can be manipulated to support any agenda imaginable. If you can’t find any reason for him to lie, you haven’t searched very far. He has everything to gain, and with a flock of unsuspecting sheep to lead, he has little risk of losing anything.

I firmly believe in GOD. Those that do not believe in GOD must be considered, in areas of faith, as either sincerely wrong or simply hostile towards GOD. Those that are hostile towards GOD will do anything to suppress any expressions of GOD or faith in GOD. On the other hand, true believers of GOD, should see GOD working even in the face of adversity. They hold to their beliefs, however; since GOD is in control, they feel no godly reason to force issues. They simply hold to the facts and what happens, happens. Some will remain quiet because they do not wish to cause trouble; however, I feel believers must put their faith on the line or there is no faith at all. So a person who promotes himself, is more apt to lie in order to be accepted. The person who trusts GOD is only promoting the truth because the TRUTH will set you free. The truth will do no such thing if there is no GOD. GOD will reveal the liar to the saved individual or one searching, who will be saved one day. The unsaved must rely on their own determinations. Those choices are clouded.

And what do you think those who believe in evolution stand to gain from evolution? What reason do they have to lie? Scientists don't benefit from tithing the way the church does.
