Good question. I would imagine that many Christians would find it offensive...especially those who who do advocate women preachers (based on just my experience with Baptists! :). Being raised in a Christian household, I grew up to believe God as male so it literally impossible to think of God as having female traits! When I have children (and if I return to Christianity), I would want them to believe in God as a Spirit-having both masculine and feminine characteristics.

I've noticed Satan has been coming up in conversation in E&M a little bit lately. Will any of you guys who refer to God as a she, be doing the same for Satan? Just wondering. :)
Excellent question. I most certainly refer to god as she. I use she, her etc in my general speech but I definately think of the fictitious satan as a he lol.

Haha, fair enough.

We all know about God, she killed loads of people in the bible. Satan though, I think he only killed one or two. :)

Ooh, now that is an interesting question.

Arguably it's acceptable to think of Satan as gendered because he was an angel, not a god, and some people think that angels do actually have a gender. But on the other hand, if, like me, you think Satan is just a metaphor for evil, then I think calling her she is fair enough. My only concern would be to make sure that people were aware that I refer to God as a she as well, because there are a lot of ancient negative associations with femininity and I would not want my purpose to be misunderstood.
