What deficient reasoning is this? Rape is a crime, that is meant to display dominance over the victim. It is in no way related to sexual orientation any more than a man raping a woman shows the inherent immorality of heterosexual marriage.

Looks like someone has strayed from the topic. Odd? But, I do know people who like to pick & choose out of the Bible. Interesting that the person used all O.T. passages. I used both old & new. I bring that up because Jesus came and did away with most laws & regualtions. However, the subject of homosexuals and what becomes of them are clear in both the new & old.
At this time I'll point out that I read the Bible daily. All of it. I have a firm grasp & understanding of it's meaning.

Not waved away or ignored. Just because the ordinances and commandments of the Law are fulfilled in Jesus, does not mean the natural laws of God's creation become null and void. This is one of the lamest arguments there is for "Which laws do we follow?".
If these bother you.... then you don't have the Spirit of Christ.
Nor does pointing to commands that many don't follow to justify promoting homosexuality. If one breaks Jesus' commandments one should repent, not say "We broke one, might as well break them all!".

If this is such a large spiritual issue as many portray it as, why didn't Jesus ever speak about it? Please don't say "Jesus didn't realize back then how widespread the issue was", because the Son of God is eternal meaning he knows all the past, the present, and the future? I understand that under Levitical law, you are supposed to come together with someone of the opposite sex, and be fruitful and multiply. We must also realize that we are talking about a time where the world was not nearly as populated as it is now, furthermore infant fatality rates were much higher. With all of that put together with a very limited knowledge of the medical field, any laws short of what God commanded of us in the Old Testament could have ended up in extinction of the human race. At the rate we're at now i'm surprised his Word isn't telling us to slow it down a bit, I mean we are overpopulating this planet at an alarming rate.
Why did God send his Son? What did Jesus do, he changed things. He angered the pharisees, he went against them, if anything Jesus was one of the biggest rebels to ever live.
What does God think when Christians preach messages of hate towards gay people, making more gay people just never even consider their salvation, hence more are lost. Does anyone think that God is not holding us accountable for every single one (I mean that, every singe one, God forgets nothing). Didn't Jesus teach us to spread a message of love? The church I grew up in used to accept anyone who walked through the door, it didn't matter who you were or where you came from. Everyone would receive you no matter what, they would pray for you, they would spread God's love toward you. I have seen multitudes of lost souls come to Christ because of this exact message. Everything from murderers and rapists from our prison outreach, homosexuals, drunks, drug addicts, devil worshipers, you name it. So if we are teaching a message of love, instead of a message of "your doomed", will we reach more of the lost? Do we have what it takes to say "God, I was wrong to hate, I was wrong to chase your people away from you?"
Once again, if this is such a big issue then why are the other issues like LYING being ignored. Lying has to be literally one of the greatest threats to God's church. Lies are being told between people in the congregations, even by church leadership. Why are there not large groups of protesters fighting this? IT IS CLEARLY A BIGGER THREAT!! It's a bigger threat because it is very easy to lie, anyone can do it at any time, and we are all so used to doing it that we do it without even knowing. Even the smallest while lie, if someone want's to visit with you and you tell them "I have some errands to run", and you don't, your sin of lying separates you from God. Our government lies all the time, why are we not out protesting them. Why do most Christians blindly vote for Republicans time after time, just because they decided to use the fight against gay marriage and conservatism to win over our votes, when we know it's all a sham, they just want votes?
I want to know why Christians are trying to fight something that isn't a threat to them, but they continue to ignore one of the greatest threats being faced right in our churches.

"But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God: I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." Matt 22:31,32
Just because the verse isn't labeled "Against Homosexuality" does not mean it is not spoken of in Jesus' words.
Saying sin no more is hardly a message of hate. Accepting the practice and promoting it is not love (Rom 12:9) and is helping to place a stumbling block in a person way to fall over for which people will be held accountable (Matt 18:7 2 John 1:11).
And if the truth scares them away, they were never going to believe in the first place (John 10:27 18:37).
Lying is not ignored in any sermons I have heard.
But pointing at the flesh and saying not to condemn it is upholding a lie. The devil is the father of lies and his followers uphold his lies (John 8:44) including upholding the desires of the flesh (1 John 2:15,16). So if you are against lies, you have to automatically be against homosexuality.
First, it will taint the whole society, just like embracing any other lie would.
But Christians do not judge whether or not to be against something based upon the effects on themselves, but on God's word. We live by God's word, not "How will it affect us?".
