mp4 on mp3 players does it work?

Please tell me if you know. I have a great many mp4 files. I have not seen mp4 players adds. Can MP3 players play mp4 files or will I have to convert those hundred or so files to mp3? Does any one know?

If the manual says it supports AAC, then you're good to go. Otherwise, yes, you have to convert them (or flash the firmware with Rockbox or something).

Unless, of course, this MP3 player is an iPod, which is the de facto AAC product (even though AAC is not an Apple technology).

I'd recommend getting Rockbox anyway... been using it since I had my 6GB Archos Jukebox and have never turned back.
