How do you handle moving?

Do you like it?

I'm struggling to pack my things... emotions... I don't want to leave all the people I love.

I've never moved a major distance from where I was born. I've lived in the same 20 mile radius all my life. I'm sure I would be very sad to leave everything and everyone that's familiar, even if I were also excited about a new home and a new life. It's totally normal to have a mixed bag of emotions about it

I have moved several times and lived in several states, and (like almost everything), it has good and bad points.

Leaving people is difficult, but with the internet, Skype, etc., it's never been easier to stay in touch.

Think about selling or donating "generic" things you have that you're not attached to.
Keep the meaningful things, no matter how silly it may seem.

You lose your old neighborhood and routines, but...you make new ones, and sometimes they're better - sometimes not.

Assuming you won't be living in a dangerous area, get to know your neighbors and neighborhood as soon as you comfortably can. Look around for a church too. These things help with the "isolation" feelings.

You will learn and grow from the experience!
