Moving On

After viewing many debates that last for days with athiest and nonbelievers (even having joined in) I have to ask myself when do we move on? Have you ever been in a "battle of wits" with someone you are attempting to win to Christ only to hit brick wall after brick wall with them?

I felt I should share my conviction on the subject. Jesus commanded us to go and preach. He commanded us to tell everyone of Him. He did not however say that we are to stay in a fight with those who reject what we say at every turn. In fact He said If a city reject you kick the dust of it off your feet when you leave.

Meaning at some point you stop throwing seeds on the stony ground and you use that energy to find a different part of land.

I still have to tear myself away from a good fight but I think it is something we need to learn. Throw your seeds and if they are rejected twice throw them some place else.

This does not mean we stop being a wittness to those we live around, but instead of wasting any time in a debate after we have said our part then we should leave them to hash out their endless questions to themselves.

The scriptures I believe support this are "Cast not your perals before the swine" and "After the first and second abomination reject such a one".

I agree with my brother Looksgood on what he said. I joined this forum accidentally and I thought it is a right place to do some gospel work. But I was totally upset because I tried my level best to change some and guide some other to right path as our Bible teach us. But to say the truth I haven’t succeeded. Here in this forum most of them argue on what they point. Even if they found it they were wrong they will not agree. They say they got the faith but they argue for only what they see worldly. Spiritual things, they don’t agree. These people study everything with the science. They don’t believe in miracles. In my experience I came across many miracles. So many miracles happen in our church. If you want you can very well check our web site www.theheavenlyfeast.com. These people can’t believe that the God can do something greater than we expect. They simply say logics and science to support. But every time these people say they got ‘faith in Jesus Christ’. But they argue on like that something is not possible to God .Jesus said ‘if you have the faith and tell the mountain to move and go to sea it will do. I read so many arguments here, which I find baseless... What are these arguments for? God is above our imaginations. Our brain is predefined much less than Him that is why we can’t study fully what our God is. It is beyond the power of our imagination. I tried to change some atheist here, they keep on arguing baselessly. So I stopped my attempt. Now I think it is good to leave the thing there as Looksgood said. If they don’t agree we should not waste time we should move to the next. Here in this forum there are some so called Christians, they argue for abortion, somebody even say something light to reveal premarital sex, Argue for Divorce etc. etc. May I ask you what this is according to Bible? Are there any instances where our Jesus Christ taught us to do like this? Can you show a love affair before marriage in the Bible? What is this so called dating? When Jesus comes next will he agree to these practices? Till everybody here says they have the faith. What faith they have? I thought to leave this forum many times because I can’t accept this practices which are against our Bible teachings. I don’t mind moving with non believers since they are the lost but I hate to move with the so called believers who argue against bible teachings and continue this sin as if it is allowed to them because they are brought up in such a society. Religion and practices will not save us. We have a base, the Bible, We have a guide, the Holy Spirit and we have our Savior, Jesus Christ. Going beyond and arguing beyond what the teachings will lead us to Hell.

Most of the best work is what we don't see happening. Don't forget the sheep are the ones who don't know the "did" for Jesus and the ones who are turned away say "I did this for you and I did that for you" but Jesus said "I never knew you".

I know what you mean. I think Jesus actualy felt the same way when He said "Oh faithless and perverse generation, how long will I be with you?"

The thing is our brothers are NOT the unbelieving swine. Though many times we have things we fight to hold on to that we shouldn't. I believe these type are those overcome with sin whom we are to restore in love. If however a brother is shown his sin by 1, 2, then the church, and does not change their mind then they must be treated as an unbeliever. As paul did for others when he said he delivered them to satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.
