  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi,

I am new to this forum and well this site. I'm trying to find a solid ground in my devotion to the Lord and was hoping that perhaps someone could help lead me in the right direction perhaps with a daily bread or daily study. I don't know hardly anyone where I live now and my family isn't saved so it is hard to talk about things I am struggling with when it comes to faith. I seem to be falling into some of the traps of old. I'm not sure exactly what I am looking for but if anyone would be interested in maybe talking or helping me with some daily growth stuff I would truly appreciate it.

Thank you,
Seth

Hi,
Yes i kinda know what you are going through, My mum and sisters are not Christian but my Dad is. I keep thinking about how fortunate I am to have my Dad share the same beliefs as me - because he brings me back to God when I am in a dark place. At the mo though I have realised that I have been going back to my old ways - and because of this I have started feeling depressed. But God is not a feeling and I wanna become new and shed my old ways.
Do you read the bible daily? because that helps.
When you pray to God, pray from your heart, repent of your sins and ask him to provide your needs.
a good website to go on is www.rejesus.com.

PM me anytime - if you wanna talk, if its for advice or not. :)
Becky

p.s also i think that you need to find a church near you to go to.

The sad thing about being male is that we don't get enough fellowship with full-on, fired up Christian men who follow our Lord Jesus Christ.

Besides what JohnNZ has offered and suggested, you also need to get with other fair dinkum men for God, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fellowship helps a lot. We have just started a group meeting each Thursday, only four at the moment, and we talk about a lot of things. And it's really great to share with men, talk men's talk, and praise and worship our Lord Jesus Christ. And we are all at different stages of our walk, and different backgrounds.

Foundation can also come from those meetings.

take care.
