  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Increasingly, there have been more comic based movies as time wears on. Just recently there has been Sin City, the FF, Batman Begins and Constantine. In the past few years and decades there has been Spiderman 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy, Blade, Judge Dredd, the Punisher, X-Men 1 & 2, Daredevil, Generation X, Spawn, the Phantom, The Crow, all the Batman movies of the 90s, the Superman movies of the 80s, and the List goes on. And there is many more planned for the future already. But a few questions anyway:

1) Which movies based on comics have you liked and disliked? Why?

2) Which comics haven't they turned into movies that you would like to see? Which actors and actresses would you get to play the important parts? What villains would they fight?

3) How could they produce sequels to current comic based movies that you'd like to see? If you disliked the movie, what villains, characters and improvements would you have to see to enjoy the sequel?

On a side not, check out this site: http://www.efavata.com/CBM/. There are movies planned for Watchmen, Ghost Rider, Deathlok, V for Vendetta, and Wolverine. :)

Yah, that seems to be the new fade, but we are eating it up like crazy. I like the movie adaptions, though as a comic book collector, they are usually horribly unaccurate, but I have a theory on that. Anyway I would love to see a Moon Knight comic, that would be awesome.

Oh and I second the avengers movie!

1) Which movies based on comics have you liked and disliked? Why?
Liked: Superman:The Movie, Superman II, Spider-Man I&II, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, Blade--Trilogy, Men in Black, Daredevil

Disliked:Superman III & IV, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Supergirl, Steel.

Hellboy was decent. Spider-Man sucked. They announced it when I was 12, and when it comes out... it's... disappointing. XMen, haven't seen. Daredevil was awful. Ben Affleck =/

Spawn was okay. The Punisher... not quite developed enough. Batman was decent.

I dunno, growing up with all these Marvel/DC comics as a kid and knowing the storylines by heart and seeing these movies is really disappointing.

I liked the X-Men movies. Hopefully they'll expound on the Phoenix saga.
Would like for them to make a movie on The Inhumans and/or Silver Surfer. Or a real HULK movie ;) since the last one was pretty dissapointing.

God bless!

I recenty saw Daredevil for the first time and it was better that I thought it would be. It was unique anyway...

Alec Baldwin starred as The Shadow a few years ago. Originally that was a radio program based on a comic or maybe a comic based on a radio program. I didn't care for it...sort of boring although it did have some interesting special effects and recreation of the period. :sigh:

Warren Beauty once played Dick Tracy and I thought that one fell short. Interestingly though even Madonna was in it.

My favorite ever was the first Superman with Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. And small parts by Marlon Brando and Glenn Ford. It was so refreshing..but the sequels never measured up to the original. :)

Yup. They have a pretty vague preview on www.spawn.com right now if you want to view it. :) Looks good, too. Even if it isn't, I'll watch it. It's Spawn, I loves it anyway.
