While I don't agree that women can't teach (prophesy)- as mmksparbud mentioned there are many women teachers, in the OT and NT. I think being silent is more along the lines as being quiet while others are teaching. We know that Paul taught that women do prophesy. His ministry had women teachers. My husband has not even read the entire bible, so it would be impossible for him to be the authority of that over me.

And I'm not a flat earther - But I do agree with you about the fallen angels.

Since the beginning (even before this earth age) this war has ultimately been between God and Satan.
The very first prophecy is God putting emnity between Eve's seed and the serpent's seed (Satan)

Genesis 6:1 "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,"

Genesis 6:2 "That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose."

This is what is being talked about in Jude and don't be confused about the word men, angels are called men in the bible as well. Man is made in the image of God and the angels.
Jude 4 "For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

When you see the words "who were before of old" this usually means even before this earth age. This earth is a lot older than many Christians realize.

Jude 6 "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."

These angels left their habitation.

Jude 7 "Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, in like manner giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."

This says even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities in like manner ...going after strange flesh. In this case human.

The angels don't give and take in marriage but these angels left their habitation and did so with the daughters of men. That's where the giants came from.

Christ teaches us that the end times will be just like the days of Noah,

Matthew 24:37 "But as the days of Noe were so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."
Matthew 24:38 "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,"

Satan and the angels will be back,

Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

And this is why Paul gave the warning about women having Christ (power) over her head,

I Corinthians 11:10 :For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels."

That verse isn't going to make sense to a lot of people if they don't know about the fallen angels.

Genesis 6:9 These are the generations of Noah; Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God."

Generations Hebrew 8435 towldah - descent, family. We know Noah and his generations were not without sin, no one is perfect only Christ. Perfect in generations means there was no blemish. His family was the only one that hadn't mixed with the angels.

Giants began to be born and this is contrary to God's plan.

I realize that not everyone is going to believe this but when you read the entire bible (which I assume we all have or wouldn't be here) you gain important context on subjects like this and they flow completely together.

I read the thread before I posted. As I said, I know not all are going to agree on this. We don't know everything there is to know about the angels. We have what we are given in the bible. But when you piece it together, it all comes together.

I read the thread before I posted. As I said, I know not all are going to agree on this. We don't know everything there is to know about the angels. We have what we are given in the bible. But when you piece it together, it all comes together.

If that is the kind of God you wish to believe in., I guess. Could you answer the questions I've asked because I really can't reconcile a God of love being so cruel, not to mention inept, as to have created billions of all male angels and have them lusting after females when there are none in heaven and they can not mate with each other! I do not believe in a God that creates dysfunction for He is not the author of confusion, hard to imagine He would create them with proper equipment to mate with a human female, even though they are created higher than us.
He is supposedly to have killed them off in the flood, however, there are giants after the flood, so what happened? Did a few survive? See several persons have answered that one by saying, in heaven angels were created to not have any genitalia, and neither will we when we are changed after the resurrection that is why we will be like the angels, but when they fell they grew them!!! Seriously? Angels can't create anything according to the bible, they can only fake it, as in the staffs that turned to snakes. Fake genitals can not impregnate, so they answered that with--God changed them!
God changed them?--- He created body parts so they could mate with females and have children, but then kills them and their children for doing so!! And then, He gives them the same body parts again at the end times, to get us pregnant once more, which once again will end up with God having to wipe them out! Just wondering what your answers are to these questions. As I am wondering why, when there are biblical answers to this passage, and that is what the Jews believed as the targums prove, people would prefer to believe this story instead!

And I gave a post about the strange flesh---It is not talking about the angels---it is talking about Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them going after strange flesh. You need to remember there was no punctuation in Greek---nor Hebrew, much depends on where we place a coma! And the example shown of how those cities where destroyed and in ashes even though that fire is described as eternal, they are not still burning, so the destruction in hell is not an everlasting g burning fire, but until everything is ashes. But, why people want to believe this angel stuff and everlasting burning hell is beyond me.

Levites are Jews. One of the Sons of Jacob. The word Jew came from one of Jacob's other sons---Judah. First time it was used as a name for all Hebrews is in Esther.
And in the OT, God calls the Israelites His children, and He their Father.

1Ch 17:13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:
1Ch_29:10 Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
Psa_68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.


There are several more, but if you are going to say that that was just after the flood---just remember---
Mal_3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

God did not all of a sudden decided that Adam's children were also His children---they always were.

Yes, but by then, all Hebrews were referred to as Jew, including the Levites. The Levites did get their special status as Priests until after they were in the wilderness and Moses anointed them Priests.

They weren't referred to Jews until after the House of Israel was split. The 10 went to the north, while Judah and Benjamin remained, later the Levites.

But Moses was long gone by then that's what I meant. It's just when people claim the whole OT is Jewish, they are leaving out the other 12 tribes and the entire house of Israel.

The straight-forward explanation is that the bad girls were descendants of bad people. Godly rulers / judges / princes are supposed to pick good wives from within the royal family, the Church if you will. But worldly girls can be more attractive and crafty.

This is a lesson that all Christians can learn from.

Not really. The word “angels,” in the New Testament, always signifies good angels. Erasmus paraphrases this verse well: “If a woman has arrived at that pitch of shamelessness that she does not fear the eyes of men, let her at least cover her head on account of the angels, who are present at your assemblies.”
